What Festool Did You buy Today?

Not today, but earlier this week.... I ordered the wrong hose end...

Festool 204822... but that one has a permanent (?) bypass. Great...

I guess for the oldstyle D27 hose I need the 202346?  [huh]

Ha, I am amazed to see they made this. Another sign they closely watch this forum.

And I can't understand why Festool keeps doing everything that has to do with vacuum cleaners wrong.

PERMANENT bypass ... really? For the small sanders, ok, but how about when you're doing clean up or have a saw attached or a router? Then you want maximum suction. So you can't have this nozzle installed on your hose. Who uses his vac only with one type of tool?

Why oh why didn't they make the nozzle with an adjustable ring like plenty of other vacuum cleaner brands do? Twist it one way, the valve opens, twist it the other, it closes? I'm baffled.

Well, I received that hose end with the bypass (204822)... and yes, it's a permanent bypass.

I also found out why I ordered it wrong. See title of the product;https://www.festool.nl/accessoires/202346---d-27-dm-asct
vshttps://www.festool.nl/accessoires/204822---d27-bp-asct

In the name of the hose end that I wanted (202346) there is a space between "D" and "27". So when I searched the seller's website for "Festool D27" the one with the bypass showed up, and the normal one without the bypass didn't show up.

Apparently... ALL the Festool hose-ends have that space between the D and the actual diameter in numbers, except the one with the bypass...
The devil is in the details..

The hose end with the bypass is on it's way back now. I have absolutely zero use for a hose end that makes the entire hose only suitable for sanders...

I also found out that the Festool FS-WA/90° (205229) does not fit in the classic Systainer. You can fit it in the same Systainer as the TS55 if they Systainer is T-loc. The T-loc Systainer is a bit wider internally at some places. In the classic it only fits on it's side in higher Systainers near the back, but before the rear side clips. With the T-Loc those clips aren't there and the Systainer is wider more closer to the hinge and the FS-WA fits even with the TS55 in the Systainer.

I was thinking the MFK 700 Set would be a waste of money and that I'd just keep using my OF 1010 with adapter plate for trimming 3/4" edge banding but got the itch and bought it during the Recon sale.

I'm not sure it will be any better than the OF 1010 but at least I'll have a dedicated router for the task even though it'll be an expensive one after buying the 0 degree base.  Hopefully it does turn out to perform better and maybe I'll even find some other good uses for it.  Now, another year to wait and drooling over the Vac Sys!!

I can promise you'll get to like that little router a lot in time! I had my doubts in the beginning as well. But now I wouldn't want to be without it anymore.

Thanks, looking forward to finding some good uses for it! :)

Picked up an OF 2200 from Festoolrecon at 25% off, $746.25 vs $995.

I pulled the bakelite base and found some dust inside, which is to be expected, overall it's in terrific shape and probably at 90%-95% condition. The lower corner of the Systainer is damaged, probably from shipping. Overall...quite pleased.

a pack of 5 S75/1,4 K's

I use those (the 50mm predecessor) with the PS in the CMS to cut 9mm multiplex. Fresh splinterguard. Very nice cuts.

But somehow the carbide blade guide in my PS300 is off-center  [huh] [huh]
EDIT: Ahaa. One Torx 15 screw holds that in place. Now they are centered once again

Although I doubt for how long. It definitely feld like I loosened some loctite  [tongue]

Instead of sharing the Shop Vac/Dust Deputy with the Kapex, I'm getting a CT15 dust extractor as a dedicated vac for the DF500/PRO95 which don't generate a lot of dust like the Kapex. (I'd hesitate to use my Kapex (old motor) with anything but a dedicated 15amp circuit.)

The new vac will be put to use the week after next (still too cold here) for another Domino project. An extra pack of filters and a few other things have also been ordered...picking everything up this Sunday.

Picked up a CT Sys and a Vecturo off the Recon site.

Vecturo is missing the dust port so hopefully they get send one out.

Went on a tear with Festool purchases this past week. Picked up a:

- CARVEX PS 420 EBQ JIGSAW
-      CARVEX ACCESSORY SYSTAINER SYS3
- RANDOM ORBITAL SANDER ETS EC 150/3 EQ-PLUS
- OF 1010 EQ IMP ROUTER (from Recon Site)
- SYS3-OF D8/D12 SYSTAINER
- SYS-STORAGE SYSTAINER
- New blade for my TS55

Only thing on backorder is the 150/3 sander (which I expect to be shipped sometime within the next decade). Still keeping my eyes peeled for a MFK 700 and FESTOOL ROUTER TABLE SET, CMS-GE on the recon site. I guess we’ll see what happens.

Good week for you [member=70813]rjboch[/member]!  Enjoy all the new kit!

Kind regards,

Kapex, been on the fence for years, I bought a cheapie a few years ago because the Kapex had motor issues but the new one seems better and the store had one in stock when I was buying some other tools. Wifey was a little upset at my impulse buy, but all better now that I will finish some projects around the house.  Kind of nice to finally get back into woodworking, have been restoring a car last 2 years and I prefer woodworking.

Welcome to the Elite ([tongue]) Kapex Club!

For the best dust extraction, use a 36mm hose for your saw.

What kind of car?  I guess it was not a Woodie.

I just needed to replace the centrotec D5 D4 D3 CE/W bradpoint bits the 5mm got overheated and likely degraded though it works fine, 4mm and 3mm as backup.

Sandpaper for the RO 90 60g 80g for stripping paint 240.g regular paint sanding, 500 gr. pre polish on metal and lacquer

Orange polish pad for the RO 90 with polishing paste to match

Sandpaper for the RS 300 which I've had now for 9 years so I filled out the with 60g. 80g. So now have grits 40, 60, 80,120,180, 240, 320 which will last until the end of my time...Higher grits are seldom used the lower grits are covered with 100 sheets in 60g 50 in 80..

The dust extraction nozzle "MX-A" arrived. I'm going to call this setup "Naja Festooliensis".  [scared] [big grin]
