What Festool Did You buy Today?

Just realized I posted this in the wrong thread ...

Today was peanut butter err, Festool Roadshow time. :) :) :)

I bought the limited edition SYS-2. Everything else are/were welcoming gifts from Festool and the dealer.

Well, I made my first purchase from Toolnut.com today! Finally ordered a CT remote, a Sys-Cart and a systainer. No sales tax and no shipping! Can’t beat that.

Hello, my name is Mike.  I am a green tool addict.

That being said, since owning 7 Festool sanders is not enough, I ordered #8 today.

*sigh*

RO-125 inbound.  Justified because I already own an ETS 125.

*sigh*

I am an addict.  Is there a self help group?

In other news, the last sander I bought, the RO90, is brilliant as a headlight polishing tool.  I justified its purchase cost already in the fogged headlights I have fixed.

I am going to have a hard time justifying why I bought the RO125, other than now I have a complete set. :-/

Hi Mike,

This is the addict self help forum and you are in safe hands. Here on the FOG we can sit in a circle and confess our sins of obsession and share experiences. The good thing is that Dr Festool has confirmed that we should not be ashamed but proud of our habit as long as we use the Green Stuff to the benefit of our families, customers or both.

Peter

HAHAHAHHA this is awesome!!!!

Thanks, Peter.

Did I mention that the RO90 was brilliant for polishing headlights?

:-D

It's OK. I sleep better knowing that I have the range of Rotex Sanders. I do really like the 125 and your rationale makes complete sense to me.

Just added a Vectuto to the stack. Bought the full set with the plug it model. Have the jobs to use it on as soon as it lands.
Hk55 and some LR32 tracks and a guide rail kit are next before the end of the month. If I can squeeze it in the budget before the 31st I might pick up an OF1400.
Yesterday my mixing rod broke while making lime putty for a repainting job. I almost ran out and bought an mx1200....

Help! I fallen down the rabbit hole....

I will name no names at all but I have discovered during my visits to various shows recently that there are some very lucky chaps who bring their wives and some very happy wives who have their husbands in tow as well. In every case the other halves are there because they want to be there.

I have chatted to many of them and even shared a coffee or two and here is my take on this excellent arrangement.

The other halves who are in support really are there to support their partners and take great pleasure in encouraging them to make the wisest choices for their next investment. I have no idea what incentive or quid pro quo is enjoyed by the supporting partner but it works.

I think the trick may be to ensure that you keep your other half up to date with your workshop practice, your worries and your ambitions. Always remember that a bad workman may blame his tools but a great workman has some great tools and great support at home.

That is exactly what I have been seeing and, for me, perfect.

Recently acquired a Vac Sys and the associated head sizes thanks to Festool Recon, Amazon.co.uk and Amazon.de at significant discounts. I played around with mounting it to the profile of my MFT/3 and it wasn't stable enough for my liking so I will be building a cart at some point for it down the road. For now it lives on my MFTslab that I made a while back.

Does "in the last week count?"

CT-26
DTS-400
TSC 55
HKC 55
6 x 18v 15.2Ah batteries
SC-8 Charger
3.5 meter sleeved hose

...and I got a hat [cool]

Step away from the debit card, step away slowly...

Not a big purchase but I did just order the Drill Dust Collection Nozzle.  Paid extra to have it tomorrow for a job this weekend.

I had issues connecting rails over the weekend.  My shop space was way to tight to join my 75” and 55” rails to rip some sheet goods (I kept bumping the rails on things and had to realign the rails for each cut).  Today I bought the 2700 rail to alleviate my frustration.  Tomorrow I’m picking up the parallel guide set to alleviate another frustrating issue I had of measuring and marking repeated size cuts.  The metric parallel guides are not as common around here now that the imperial stuff is everywhere.  The fourth place I called has one on display, but I ran out of time to pick it up this afternoon.
