What Festool Did You buy Today?

Not today, but needed to post latest purchases. I was frozen out of the FOG for a while, and it took kindly human intervention by a Festool gentleman to reset my login.
Anyway, during my lock-out I ordered an MST 1800 folding saw table, arriving October 1; and bought an ETS EC 125 with a 150 mm pad—which works fantastically well! The Jetstream II 150 mm pad takes the escaping sawdust from very little to nothing; the brake works perfectly; there is extremely little vibration; and it did a great job on the light sanding I needed to do on a drywall repair. Haven’t yet tried the Abranet (local dealer sells Autonet which is cheaper).
I also have two of Peter Parfitt’s UJK rails on the way, to use with his Superdogs and rail clips.
Also waiting on a Kapex-UG set.
Needless to say, quite excited about finally having a decent workshop after 20 years of making do.

Got the new bit holder and bit set for the new impactor from Beaver tool/Festoolonline.  Probably the smallest  Festool order ever for me $38.00.

Also slight quality problems, seems like they forgot to coat the blade with something making it agnostic to touch:

The smaller lock thingy for the flap toward the extraction airway broke, no clue how:

Not impressed by the durability of the plastic.

Also when putting the sled onto the slider a slight gravity mishap, the wheel didn't touch anything in the process... but destructed:

The plastic hoop (which basically is the only thing that'll be in need of replacement after throwing the slider from a bridge) is (according to EKAT) not available as a spare, only the whole wheel assembly for the low price of only 19,51€.

I'm looking forward to an interesting phone call that'll happen monday morning.

Yea, probably an unorthodox choice of words  [smile]

I ment it in the sense of 'to not care about it at all' - a state that (I guess) everyone here maintains on their tools, possibly through applying a thin coat of oil or wax to stop the blade from corroding.

Thanks [member=53905]Gregor[/member] for the photos...it is larger than the CMS but not unmanageably so considering it uses a "full size" 10" (254 mm) blade. Nice looking piece of equipment...too bad about the plastic bits.  [sad] 

The broken roller is especially troublesome for a piece of equipment whose main function in life is to be set-up, taken down and moved on a daily basis. [mad] [mad]

This happened to me with the siding table I purchased for the VL I have. Make sure you receive the correct assembly — the top ones differ from the bottom ones; eccentric vs centric. And yes, the price of the part is absurd.

And OT: I hope to receive my TKS 80 next week. It has shipped from the dealer!

Received my TKS 80 Set today. Put it together & guess what happened? The SAME PART broke while sliding the table onto the profile. (Insert a lot of swearing).
Sent an email to FS with a picture. Hopefully they’ll do the right thing. This may be a production goof, because it kind of happens to everyone.
(OTH I have a slider on hand that will do for the time — just doesn’t have the ‘all new appearance’ of the rest.)

I sure am glad Festool finally got their new battery introduction completed.  I am new to Festool, and thought Festool never had a sale, and then kept finding too many temptations on clearance.  Last year I bought an used 55 track saw and got that dreaded green Festool fever.  In Feb. I see the 115 sander was being discontinued.  At least with this dealer, while Festool prices may take the shirt off your back this dealer gives you a new Festool tee shirt.  So $220 down and new tee shirt.  (Last Sunday a lightly used 115 sander sold for $455+ shipping on E-bay-OUCH).  Next, I thought too long and missed the HKC saw for $395 with Airstream batteries and charger.  It sold out the same day I tried to order. Then I found a deal on a D handle 420 Carvex jigsaw set with 5.2 bluetooth ($375).  Then someone was clearing out the C18 with 3.1 batteries ($449).  Then I see the ETSC 125 Hybrid sander set for $349 including 110v convertor.  For some reason I never could save enough money for the Kapex miter saw.  And lucky for my checking account, I could not take advantage of the great deals I found in Canada because of Festool regulations.  So yes, I am glad the new batteries are finally introduced and things can get back to normal.

Well after swearing off buying anymore Festool items unless I really really needed something, I came across a great deal on a mint used TSC 55 basic kit (with no batteries/charger).  So I then began my search for batteries/charger.  In Canada 2 new 5.2 non-bluetooth batteries and the Airstream 6 charger would have cost me 360.00 + tax.  I check out some of my vendors and one of the vendors has the BHC Hammer Drill Kit on sale for 399.00 that includes  2 x 5.2 batteries and the Airstream 8 charger for basically 39.00 more than buying 2 batteries and a charger separately. So I just bought a new BHC Hammer drill in a systainer for $39.00 !!
Yesterday I also picked up a great used CT 36 E AC vac and Planex LHS 225 (for less than 1/2 new) from a couple who used it one time to drywall a garage addition 3 years ago and it has sat unused for all that time.  I will now sell my CT 36 vac so with the proceeds from that my cost for the Planex kit will be about 1/4 new price. I swear I won't buy anymore Festool!

Finally picked up a new TID 18 from DM-tools in the UK, they were very quick to send and came well packaged. Nice looking impact drill, looking forward to use it. Also first tool of mine to arrive in new sys3. Bloody shame about the difference in height but other than that it's a nice systainer for the drill.

I did also pick up an XXL sys3, really useful to store my decorating tools! Might pick up another at a later time. Just waiting for the new shape sys-cart to sit it on.

I don’t think its that bad. They need  keep it “light”, for sure not a table to take with you for a “few” hours.
