What Festool Did You buy Today?

Got me a OF 1400 Router today.  Should be delivered on Friday according to the manifest...  I had 6 different ones and gave all them away to my brother-in-law, sons, nephews, etc.. I kept that monster 3.5 Triton in my Table... now I need a router for normal handheld use and what's a guy supposed to do?  I bought another...  [eek]

Next up?  Accessories!... just dont know the festool router accessories well enough to figure out what I need though the LR32 looks... well almost as much as the router...lol

A Festool Systainer trolley #495020... found one left-over at a local dealer. Even 20% off.  [big grin]

Since Festool discontinued these things... they sell used for more than what I just paid.

FestoolRecon's been good to me lately.  Just scored a CT-MIDI I, and a RTS 400!  Adding to the signature line now...  [big grin]

In the interests of logistics I've after a Long pause added som systainers for organisation to my setup. A Sys Combi 2 which I will use with the PDC drill insert, and replace it's lid with the existing PDC DF (attic) lid. The bit's I already own will sit in the attic lid; Bradpoint, Stone, and bit assortment. The PDC drill insert is already almost fully populated with the optional Chucks, will add the right angle chuck and a dust ekstractor thingy at some point. The Bottom drawer will have space for the Zobo bit set and the  HSS bit set, perhaps a small drilling guide. Any additional bits pieces, Dowling jig etc.

I also bought a Sys 1 with Attic lid which I'll use with the CXS with a bit assortment in one bay and bradpoint short bits etc in the other two bays.

5-15 centrotec countersink.

Blue polishing pad for the R0 150

Interface pad for sanding curved surfaces for the R0 150

Found a complete T18 with 3.1 AH batteries and chucks - so grabbed it. Also picked up a D Handle Trion. I had sold my barrel grip a few years ago and have missed it. I have a battery Carvex barrel that I like as well as a Mafell and Bosch. The D Handle is for a different grip and I have an affection for jigsaws...and apparently T style drills as I added the T18/TID combo kit last week. I need help.

I cancelled the order in quote below, as the company I ordered from seemed to have some hiccups as to the payment type, when I pressed pay to paypal it sent a thank you for the order but I wasn't sent to the paypal site. This was due I thought to them not being able to deliver some of the items within a reasonable time frame. Yesterday I got a mail saying they were waiting for payment from me and I should use bank transfer. After some thought I cancelled the order.

I moved to CBdirekt.de and and Rubart. so now I have 3 orders on the way, these two and the last order with the Systainers in my previous post from two days ago.

From Rubart

1 x Festool Bit-Sortiment BITS + BHS 60 CE TL 24x – 769094
1 x Festool  D 5 CE/W – 492514
2 x Festool  D 4 CE/W – 492513
2 x Festool  D 3 CE/W – 492512
1 x Festool  SSH-STF-93x175/8 – 483905

I added  bits with the new version centrotec bit holder which will fit in the attic lid in the sysstainer  for the CXS that I have on order. Price for the bit set with centrotec bit holder with Attic Lid compatible plastic insert was very good compared to just getting the holder alone.

I decided to get just the regular centrotec bradpoint bits  3-5mm instead of the stubby bits for the CXS as these are short enough for most situations.

Festool stickfix pad for the RS300 eq (I've had this very good sander for 8 years and although it's stick fix pad is in okay shape I think its good to have a back up pad for it.

From CBdirekt I bought the Sandpaper the P500 granat had a long wait time so I will order that later.

1 497365FES Granat P80 2x50  RO 90

2 497371FES        P240 100 stk for RO 90

3 498934FES
Festool  STF 93X178  Granat  P60 2x50 Stk for RS300 eq

4.    STF 93X178  - P80 50 Stück for RS300 eq

The items all ended up being cheaper than originally so that takes some of the pain out wait for them because of the mis-steps with the original order.

I recommend CBdirekt and Rubart warmly for buyers in the EU.

I'm buying things lately that are reasoned adjustments to my consumable items and son logistical adjustments for my type of mobile work. The total items add up to a significant amount of money but are long term investments and necessary to the Festool system I'm running.

I just needed to replace the centrotec D5 D4 D3 CE/W bradpoint bits the 5mm got overheated and likely degraded though it works fine, 4mm and 3mm as backup.

Sandpaper for the RO 90 60g 80g for stripping paint 240.g regular paint sanding, 500 gr. pre polish on metal and lacquer

Orange polish pad for the RO 90 with polishing paste to match

Sandpaper for the RS 300 which I've had now for 9 years so I filled out the with 60g. 80g. So now have grits 40, 60, 80,120,180, 240, 320 which will last until the end of my time...Higher grits are seldom used the lower grits are covered with 100 sheets in 60g 50 in 80..

I've received the two orders from CBdirekt in my previous post.

My thought of using a Sys 1 with attic storage has a slight problem I had not anticipated. The space taken up by the attic storage makes it impossible to fit the CXS insert as it is too thick! This caused by the space needed to fit the charger, so disappointed but not deterred  a solution is to leave out the battery charger and use a foam base and make cutouts for the tools, there's then room for an ekstra section for fasteners and a few hand tools instead of the charger.

Found a RO 150 in the wild today and had to pick it up given the current market. Have the ETSC 125 and have been wanting a rotex for a while even though I may not ‘need’ one right now... [emoji2]

A month or so ago I ordered an OF1400 from a large local dealer and they said they had two on order expected to be here this week and that they would hold one for me. Knowing how things are going lately I called them earlier this week and the nice lady in the office called Festool to verify shipment only to be told that it’s been delayed an additional 16 weeks. On the way home I stopped at Rockler to pick up a router bit and BAM, they had an OF1400 just sitting right there waiting for me. I did not see that one coming but I’m pretty happy about it.

I picked up a CXS yesterday on my way to the office.  Used it last night to put some pilot holes and screws into a bookshelf project I've been working on; having a drill bit in the Jacob's chuck and the supplied Philips bit in the Centrotec chuck/bit holder was an eye-opener.  I had been using my old Craftsman C3 NiCd 19.2 drill for this before, so the compactness and light weight of the CXS is almost night and day different.

I used it again later in the evening to drill pilot holes for the panel nails (they didn't want to drive straight or easily through the 3/16 hardboard into mahogany), and it was such a joy to use that I could have easily gone overboard with the panel nails if I hadn't stopped myself!

Lol, induced demand. Supply is short and people start to hamster. (dunno if that is still valid in English).

OF2200 router and the accessories Systainer for the OF2200.

I have put off this purchase for a long time. Needed it for a project and now is the time. Was hard to find right now because of Covide-19 shut downs. Several dealers said it was backordered and would be 90 to 120 days before I could get one. I did some scouting around and found this one in Mesa AZ at TimberWood. Thanks Wayne and owner RaeAnn. You guys are great.

Now I need to order the Metric scale upgrade. Really never got why Festool went imperial. Twelve years they were ALL Metric. Now it is a PITA to convert the tools back to there original Metric roots. Festool needs to included both metric and imperial scales in the box. And let the buy install the scale they prefer.  [big grin]

Thanks again

Picked up an MFK 700 full set in time for weekend project of laundry room cabinets..

After the purchase, smacked my own head for the green bug I have been bitten with [emoji12].. as it is my 5th router after OF2200, OF1400, Milwaukee 2.25HP in my Jessem table and a Bosch Colt trimmer. I think I am done with routers now [emoji1]

I picked up a corded Carvex last month. It has a nice heft and "hand feel". I've cut top down and bottom up and was able to track a line very accurately with no deflection in both cases. Trying to decide if I should get the angle base next.

I'm getting the Syslite KAL II set tomorrow if all goes well.

The perfect companion for me as I often work late into the evenings where lights are inadequate non existent.

EDIT: On second thought no, I double checked the ad and could se I had mistaken the model for sale it was the KAL version so I opt out for now. The KAL II set is what I want and will get it at the time of my next order..

I usually buy tools when I know I'll have projects for their use. This Domino connectors kit is an exception; I have no immediate needs for any knock-down projects.

I'll start researching for ready-to-assemble projects in the near future.

Good for you Chuck...I also purchased the kit but was hesitant at first because of the price. The good thing is that I had a project that it was needed for so the pain level was lowered substantially. [smile] You're a creative guy, so I'll be interested in what projects you use the QD connectors for.

On another note...I received the Festool Turbo Brush (203809) today. This seems to be one of those Festool endangered species items because it's difficult to find one that's available on the street. Woodcraft can't order it, Rockler can't order it and Festool USA doesn't list it on their website.

I found it at:https://www.ustoolandfastener.com/search.php?search_query=203809&section=product

I confirmed they had inventory on Wednesday, ordered it on Wednesday and received it on Friday.  [big grin]

Rather than using electricity to turn the beater brush which is usually the case with Miele vacuums, this beater brush runs on the air drawn into the vacuum head. The drawn-in air, turns an impeller which is directly linked to the beater brush. It works really well. I'm very satisfied.

However, here's a heads-up...the item is manufactured by Wessel in Germany and can be purchased under the Wessel TK 286 part number for $50. If you prefer the Festool name and the lime green trim, it'll cost you $150.  [mad] [crying]
