What Festool Did You buy Today?

Does it matter it's old? At some point it makes little sense to melt the battery halfway to charge it 5 minutes faster. If you need it that fast you might look into more spares or just more chargers.

I think the concern is the bluetooth more than the TCL-6/SCA-8 thing.  A cordless TSC-55 with non-Bluetooth batteries hamstrings it way too much.

This absolutely the case for me. I care much more about the battery than the charger.

And for anyone’s future reference, it did come with the Bluetooth batteries.

All of this talk about the Energy Set makes me wonder if Festool will ever sell the Energy Set Insert all by its lonesome.  I already have plenty of batteries and chargers and while it's easy enough to just make sure everything has a battery in it, it would be lighter to have a set like the Energy Set that you could just load up, take everything else as a bare tool, and not have to remember which case/tool had a battery in it last.

Received my SYS3 Systainer Starter Set (577081) today and I'm very happy with the purchase (pre-order from Lee Valley in Canada). While I'm relatively new to Festool, I wanted to get a couple of Systainers to store a few non-Festool tools. When this set was announced, it was perfect at ~30% less than full retail.

I have the perfect spot to mount the rails in the lower of an open cabinet and I'm planning to get some kaizen foam inserts for the empty boxes. I'm really impressed with the M89 organizer - it's a solid feeling unit and I'm going to plan to get a couple more so that I can move away from those cheap parts cabinets with those little drawers. I'm also impressed with the build quality of the rails.

Great purchase for those in the market for some empty Systainers and rails. I could be tempted to get another set with the intention of selling the second toolbox (which is nice as well, I just wouldn't need two).

Let's see. Today, I received the two Tanos SYS Cart units I bought from the Systainer Store sale. Monday, I'll receive the Energy Set.

Amazingly, managed to score a job lot of three BHS60 bit sets in micro systainers, with damaged lids, for only £20 on eBay.

They were ‘buy it now’ and I just happened to look on there just after they were listed. I thought the days of eBay bargains were long gone.

Those little kits are super cool. The BHS 60 Centrotec bit is around $30 by itself here in the US. I snagged two of them from the Grizzly sale/closeout.

Yeah, they're ridiculously expensive here too, and I've never seen them on sale.

These ones were sold by a fairly well known Festool/Tanos dealer over here on their eBay account where they usually list damaged or returned items. They don't tend to do huge discounts on their eBay shop though, so I have a feeling someone was told to list the sets for £20 each and misunderstood and listed them for £20 for the whole lot. Who knows though - maybe they were just feeling generous.

I now have a BHS60 for every drill, and a load of spare bits for the 'random bit box', so I'm happy.

Energy Set Information

Interestingly enough the SYS³ M 187 is made in Germany.

The Rapid Charger SCA 8 is made in Vietnam.

The battery pack BP 18 Li 5,2 AS-ASI is made in Poland.

The battery pack BP 18 Li 4,0 HPC-ASI is made in China.  [huh]

The Shaper Origin showed up today. From the tracking info I got when it first shipped, I didn't expect to see it until tomorrow. I got it plugged in and updated, ready for some testing tomorrow.
At this point, I think I'm going to use Inkscape with it. I got that downloaded to this laptop, but I'm going to have to get a mouse for it. The little touch pad and touch screen are not so good with so many drop-down menus.

I got one of these

I am making a outfeed table for my SawStop job site saw and will use this.
I’ll keep everyone in the loop when I set it up
Cheers, Charlie

Bought a Kapex 120 on Tuesday, went back and got the cart & wings on Thursday.

This morning, I was thinking for the umpteenth time about how odd Festool's pricing is when it comes to package deals.  Usually it's things like the MFT/3 table vs. the set, or this morning the price differential between a Vac-Sys with clamps vs. the Vac-Pmp and clamps separately.  The UG cart and wings are another great example of this.  $960 for the stand with wings if you buy them as a set.  Otherwise it's $575 for the stand and $630 for the wings, for a total of $1205???  I got my UG-Kapex Stand for a pretty good price when Grizzly dumped their Festool gear, but with the price of the wings as a standalone item, I'm sorta stuck waiting for used wings to come up for sale if I don't want to end up spending over $960 total.

It's fine for the time being, since I'm not mobile and have the MW-1000 and/or STM 1800 that I can use as a support (speaking of not cheap), but no flip stops or measurements on those.  Thank goodness for the "system", though, since I suppose I don't necessarily have the guarantee to be able to find other pieces all at the same working height if I were to go a different route altogether.

Oh, and in the spirit of this thread, my OF 2200 arrived from Recon last night.  Still had the e-tailer's logo on the systainer, and was missing the owner's manual.  That said, what a beast!

Good luck. I tried to go that route and couldn't make it work out and bought the combo UG cart and wings. Hartville had a couple sets of the wings up on eBay about a month or two back that went cheap. IIRC around $120 w/ free shipping for one wing.

Hartville has a single wing and a set of wings  posted now for clearance on E-Bay.  These are returned items that may have something broken or missing, or just returned.  If there is a problem with the product Hartville does a good job explaining what is broken or missing, and shows pictures, so no surprises.  Good outfit, they ship for free, and I would recommend you try them.

Yeah, I'm not sure how well it'll work, but I may end up just having a cart or a station for it at some point instead.  I definitely regret not bidding on one of the pairs back then when I saw how cheap it sold.  Of course, I didn't have a Kapex at the time, so I had no reason to bid, but I've seen them go for extremely cheap on there.  eBay's funny like that; some Festool stuff goes for really cheap, and others (even accessories) bid up well over retail; sometimes even the same item just on different weeks/months.

I'm glad I researched the prices of some of the sets in the past.  The Vac-Pump that's on Recon is mighty tempting right now but unless a clamp comes up by itself later on, I'd be out the same money if I just bought the whole set brand new, and 2 years' more warranty to boot.  It's another one of those "sets" where some of the prices on sets make little to no sense.

Yup, they're on my watch list, but we'll see.  My relationship with Hartville is a bit complicated...
