What Festool Did You buy Today?

I got a few things from Tool Curve. A non-rotating dust port for the TS60, an adaptor OF1010 and a clamp rack for the MFT clamps.
Everything works great, as always, but they missed it on the color of the OF1010 port. They have the green plastic, that oval shape is a proprietary Festool fitting, why not use it?

Sold my Blum Minipress and replaced with - OF1010 router
                                                                LR-32 set
                                                                LR-32 rail

Got a few goodies.
Last week I got a KSC 60 and this week I got the Domino 700 XL and the connector kit for an upcoming project :-)

Got in my HK85 blades I ordered from ebay uk, plus a few extra blades and cords for my TS75 and HK55 from hartville hardware clearance.

I've also been eyeing the OF2200, and since this weekend is tax free for me I broke down and ordered one plus the metric accessory kit, all the extra rings not included in said kit, and the 1/4 collet. I figured I'd get everything in one fell swoop (except the mortise guide, I can't stomach paying that much for it).
I shouldn't have, because I'm already working extra to pay off some other stuff. But I wanted the 1/2 plunge ability with the extra power and finesse (already have a Milwaukee 1/2).

This is becoming a problem. [eek]

I bought the CT25 bottom part, container for my stationary CTM MIDI I that I bought last week. I bought a CTL MINI I couple of years ago that i will "upgrade" To a MIDI. I have two separators: the Festool and a dust deputy type cyclone. I also have the first CTLC MIDI I ever delivered in the Netherlands. I waited almost a year for it after I ordered it. The CTM is connected to my CNC router. The CTL is my general shop vac for all handheld tools and the CSC-SYS (Yes, I have one of those). The CTLC is my job site vac. I am weird enough to have tools that never leave the shop (ETS 125, OF 1010, D 500) which I refer to as my clear tools, and tools that I use on site like the BHC 18, TSC 18, TID 18, and Rotex which are my installation tools. The Planex is really the odd one out because that was used on exactly one project.

This will be my one post where I brag about my collection:

AGC 18 EU
BHC 18
BR10 D

CSC SYS 50
CTL MIDI I (2X)
CTL MINI I

DF 500 Q

RO 15O FEQ
RO 90 DX FEQ
RSC 18 EU (2x)
RTSC 400LI
TID 18
TPC18/4
TSC 55 KEB

Most jobsite tools were put in the DUO systainer with a drawer for consumables/tools. like sandpaper, dominoes, screws, bolts, anchors etc. I also put all of my other tools (Makita nailer, Wagner spray set, bench dogs, MFT sets) in systainers. I have such OCD that I took my Bessey clamps out of the dark gray systainer to put it in the Festool systainer. There are also 5 CXS on this list because my sons, a nephew and BIL help me from time to time and I got each of us our own CXS, that is their personal tool to take care of. Oldest Festool on this list is 2018. Oldest Festo product is 1998-ish. And yes, all my systainers are labelled with my personal cards.

Well done! You will absolutely love the OF2200, it's such a sexy beast!

I finally got annoyed enough to get myself a second remote switch of my CT26.
Since I don't run my big router through the CT, I use a remote to start it. Since the switch is on the 27mm hose (and I use the 36mm with the router table) it's always the wrong combination.

I grabbed a remote after I bought a MIDI-I, and when I found a lot of 3 remotes on eBay a month or two later, I snapped them up for just this very reason.  I think all but one of them are in use, along with the one that came with the CT-26 module.  Handy little buggers!

Things that you sold are not exactly part of your collection anymore  [tongue]

Wow, again someone in the tub-collecting business. But with a collection of four compatible motor tops... it makes more sense. I have three CTL's, none of them compatible with each other' tubs. (22, 26, Midi-I).

Did you ever calculate the total stack height of all your Systainers?

Yup the original 12v.  Comes in a new sys3, which I've already filed down (akin to licking it) so it's staying.

You must be a cyclist? That's the most common reference to licking something that I know.
Licking a new bicycle (especially if you built it) make it "yours".

Haha what? I ride 7000 km a year, but never heard of that.

[member=8955]Coen[/member] Maybe it's an American thing?

Yeah, You could build an entire custom bike from a bare frame......but it's not "yours" until you lick it.

It's HUGE. Bigger than my Milwaukee. Unfortunately I probably won't get a chance to try it out for a while.
I'm (slowly) working on a deck, might try it trimming the pieces. But seems like such overkill for little bits of softwood.....

Caught the end of a Festool 'Demonstration Day' at my local supplier last week - they had opened up a brand new WC1000, to set up for the demo. It was assembled, but not used in any way. I bought it for 50% off.

How is the ksc60? I really like the tsc55k which is a battery saw and I’m considering the ksc. Nothing I can find on here on on YouTube that isn’t some paid review and they are pretty much all identical

Well, I TRIED to buy the OF1400. Went into my local Woodcraft store with the money burning a hole in my pocket. There happened to be a Festool rep in the store who was helpful. (A good thing because the usual staff is typically ill-informed on Festool.) Turns out the only router available was the display model. I said I wouldn't buy that one. The store manager came over and blubbered about having sold one "just that morning," and "full warranty," and "could order a new one." I pointed out that a discount is the norm in these situations. "Well, can't discount Festool." And he starts pointing at the rep.

Do these people ever listen to themselves? Did I come to listen to a boatload of excuses? Do I want a $700 tool that everyone in town has been handling and fiddling with? Is there nothing else he can do to make the sale attractive?

Hmm. Here it is now at Toolnut with a free t-shirt. . . . And they have very funny videos on Insta.

That's a shame.

The Woodcraft that opened near me seems to have pretty good staff, although I purchased almost all the Festool I could handle long before they opened.  The Acme Tools in town is the closest Festool dealer (and has been the only one around for a very long time before Woodcraft came along), and they're... not exactly clamoring for Festool sales, let's put it that way.

We're a blue collar town and they have a blue collar clientele looking for their fix of teal, red, white, black, and yellow.  I've only evern encountered one other person even looking seriously at the Festool gear when I was in there, and he walked out with a CT48 and CT-VA 20 to get him to the end of his project that weekend after his vac died.  When I was looking at the TID18 when it first came out, all that the staff knew was that they'd "like to be able to afford that some day."  C'est la vie.

Our new Woodcraft is in a more white collar, college town, in the building where a BMW Motorcycle dealership used to sit.  They'll probably do just fine.

I've shared this same annoyance, with the display model being the only one left and all. MAYBE for something like a CXS, I'd still take it... maybe. But a router is such a precision instrument by comparison, you don't want to spend that kind of money not knowing if someone dropped it once.

IDK what the situation is with Festool dealers and rules regarding the sale of display models, but there should be some allowance for a discount in that situation? I mean, I feel like it makes sense to just offer the Recon site discount. It's basically the same degree of usage in most cases.

The local Woodcraft store does discount discontinued Festool items...although it can be from 2-6 months after their obsolescence. It's kind of a walk in and observe the discounted Festool items and then decide which one's for you. Rather a catch-as-catch-can program. I've nabbed some Festool items that have never been opened...seriously...and have seen some items that looked like they were were dragged around the block on a rope.

I still have the surprisingly low price tag from my ETS EC 150/3 in the Systainer with the tool because my Acme had it marked down from some sort of discontinuation (move to Sys3?  I don't really know).  I think it may have even been from back when the dealer would still register the warranty for you...
