What Festool Did You buy Today?

I bought a second top rock speaker. I’ve been very happy with the first one I bought, and as slow as my workshop build is moving, it will be a while before my permanent system is in place. It also scratched the itch I had for a new tool. I’ve been drooling over the conturo, and grinding my teeth using a clothes iron to apply overly expensive pre glued edge banding.

Vecturo (finally). Been waiting a while to try and catch one on Recon and early this morning I did.

Also got a returned Domino XL at a discount that had never been out of the systainer and never registered from my local dealer who was forced to accept it back from a large customer (who wouldn't pay the bill from 2 years ago). Also same with a vac sys (no pump). Crazy week and very happy.

KSC 60, KS 60 UG stand, blue tooth Midi, TS-60. Needed some tools for home.

I do find the KSC 60 does not launch small cuts offs like the KS 120.

That worked out well. Expensive day, but very discounted at that haha! At least the pump is the easiest thing to sub into the VacSys system and the fittings are readily available.

Not sure why a dealer would want a very-large customer who doesn't pay their bills

Paul,

I think the customer buys a lot of lumber, flooring, etc for home building but also bought Festools from them. They apparently bought the items I got two years ago for some project and never opened them. Included a 1400 router and a Kapex too. So I was told they said "take them back or we won't pay some other large bill". Not nice...but at the practical level, the vendor had to decide what to do. They chose to take the Festools back and then sold them for a discount. Such is business at times I'm afraid.

Thanks for your contributions to this forum over the years. The best to you.

I snagged the OF 2200 off recon yesterday. Just happened to be near my iPad when the slack notification popped up. Apparently it shipped today.

Nice haul, how it the ksc60, very interested in adding one and hoping it can do all of my site work but virtually every online review is a paid advertisement.

I grabbed the new CXS 12 this week to replacement brushed Bosch GSR12. The fit, finish, 12V battery (which works on Sysrock), and expandability with attachments are fantastic and is what drew me to this drill/driver. The balance is amazing!

However, I'm leaning towards returning it. The sound from this unit is not just loud, but generally just unpleasant (much like a hairdryer or Dyson vacuum). This is any time the drill is set to speed level 7+ or on drill mode - under 7, it's quite pleasant. I know this was a concern from the community soon after it was announced, but I didn't expect a small drill/driver to sound this way.

I put together the following video (very positive, minus the sound) and am currently contemplating returning it. I could see myself wanting to use this inside cabinet carcasses or around the house for general DIY work.

Sorry for the delay, just noticed this. For some reason I did not receive a notification.

I bought the saw for punch list items primarily. With the 5.2 batteries the lasted a full day of on/off cutting leaving the light on all the time. My guess is run time was a couple of hours. Charge time was less than an hour on the new batteries that came in the energy set I bought with the saw.

I accidentally found that there is a miter lockout on the saw. Lift up on the lock, shift left and the miter lock is overridden. As I mentioned, none of the small cutoffs got lunched like the 120 has a tendency to do.

The one thing I do wish this saw had is the twist to bevel in the rail rod like the 120.

Would I buy another one? After using it for a couple of weeks—yes.

Picked up a sys 50 table saw on September 7th. I'm in my 60's and live in the Boston area. I taught high school shop classes and ran a construction/cabinet business for 40 years. Teaching woodworking was the greatest time of my life. I lit the flame for many kids to get into the trades and "do what you like". During summers, weekends, and school vacation time I would hire teachers and students to work on kitchen renovations and do finish work. I have been spoiled with all the help over the years and now I am back to working alone. I now set up, clean up, and do all the tasks that my helpers use to do.
So my old makita table saw was my workhorse for years. Small quick cuts on the ground using the cross bar on my saw horse as an outfield was how I ripped many miles of thin strips. Now that I'm older and wiser I upgraded to the new Sawstop compact table saw (CTS) last year. Wow what a great saw in use, but to heavy to move around for me. One day as I was removing the saw out of my van I pulled hard to get the 70 pound saw to move and smashed my fingernail real bad. At that moment I realized it was not so "compact".
For a year I have been following the release date for the sys 50. I called on the 6th of September when they were ready for sale and picked mine up on the 7th. I ran it through some cuts in the shop to test it out and I love it. Im going to use it mostly for ripping on jobs, I have the stand to use as an outfield support. I'm looking forward to some reviews from users and I will post back in a few months after I use it on my next kitchen.

Nice thanks for the info, I decided to order one as well. See how it is, hopefully I get comparable performance and functionality in just a lighter more compact package

A recent acquisition was a barely used ETS EC 150/5 EQ. Very nice sander but a really different feel that my "vintage" 150/3.

More importantly, I ordered the CXS-18 today to add to my two CXS-"10" D/Ds in the shop. One format that I really find comfortable and a little extra power when needed. It also opens up the opportunity for other 18v tools should I see the value/need for them in the future. The 15v D/D will move to the garage to replace the old 12v D/D  for "household use" and I'll find another use for the 12v which works just fine still after all these years.

I ordered the old version of the Planex that was on Recon, for $300 it was way too good to pass up and it will be a lifesaver for some home projects I need to get done. My garage is a pretty rough level 1 finish that'll need a lot of sanding.

I need to figure out the dust extraction though, since I only have a CT MIDI. I'm thinking about trying the old water bucket filter trick.

I'm in a very similar boat...

I have the CT VA-20 cyclone, but I'm thinking after some research that I'll just wait for a Black Friday or similar sale on the Nilfisk/Flex/Milwaukee/Makita 9-gallon AutoClean extractor, which has gone on sale for $200-$300, and then get the L-Boxx connector set for it to mount Systainers on top as needed.

It's either that, or find a CT-36 AC and swap the power head and hose on to my CT-26 and sell off the CT-26 power head and CT-36 bucket.  But the Nilfisk/Flex/Milwaukee/Makita route is likely much cheaper, and is OSHA certified in AutoClean mode if that ever comes up in the future.  If I only had my MINI and my MIDI-I, the N/F/M/M route would be top of list.

I haven't researched any of the non-Festool extractors, thanks for the tip! It looks like those adapters will likely work with the Planex tool rest accessory as well.

One of the multi-connector plates?

The ATTIX has a Tool Box Adapter Plate (it's actually 2 pieces, I believe) that allows it to connect to the 4-point attachments on L-Boxx and Systainers.  Based on my research, it's compatible with all of the alternate-branded versions of that model from Milwaukee, Makita, and Flex.  We're probably talking about the same thing just with different terms?
