What Festool Did You buy Today?

I finally bought a Festool drill, the new CXS 12.  Such a great product!  The ergonomics are pretty amazing.  Just feels right in my hand.  I have an old 20V Porter-Cable drill and impact driver, and they are fine for heavy-duty work, but I really wanted a smaller drill for assembly, moderate drilling, and adding hardware to a project.

I have not bought any Festool products for a couple years.  I was pleasantly surprised to see the new Sustainer design with storage compartment on the lid, and two handles instead of just one. Very nice!

bought a OF 1400. Next buy will be a track and the connector for the router to the track.
This setup will solve alot of work for me.
I make daddos (1/4 deep x 3/4 wide approx) for cabinets that I make.
Now I use aluminum straight edges clamped where I need them for guides.

Stopped at a Woodcraft store after work Thursday and found a pile of Systainers by the Festool display. They had a DTSC 400 Basic for around $200. It was their display model and I think they were closing it out b/c it came in a T-loc Systainer (which I see as a win.) They also had a dozen T-locs of various sizes. I got three for my partner/boss who'd just been saying he wanted more Systainers. I'm thinking about throwing in my corded DTS and calling it Boss Appreciation Day.

Picked up a slightly used (~10 hours) CT 36e AC with 10 extra bags for a fair price, will be a nice multi use vac for shop and some house reno projects.

After postponing it for a long time I finally decided to buy a VAC SYS just when Festool stopped selling them. I managed to order one, but it never materialized. Oh well, it wasn't that important. Then last week someone on another forum I frequent put one up for sale (VAC SYS SE1 Set). And not even for the inflated prices you'll sometimes see for these things. Now I have it, I find it a very useful addition to my workshop. Next I'll be on the hunt for some extra adapters, because now I only have the VT D215 version.

[Edit (one day later)] Well, what do you know? I found a full set of Vakuumtellers (VT). And for the normal price too. Really glad with that. Today I wanted to clamp a larger piece, but that was a bit too much. After that I tried to search for a SE 2, but those seem to be unavailable. I think I'll make a supporting stand with the same height as the SE 1. That might be enough. We'll see. Still very glad to be using this system. Should really have bought it before it went out of production.

Also new to the group here and new to Festool - many thanks to all for helping me spend money.
So far this year a CT36, ETS EC125/3 and a RO 150 have taken up residency.  The trio keep telling me they have a few close friends - 1400 EQ Router and a TS 75 that also need a home. 🙄
I have been slowly gearing up to building tables, benches and other projects.  Really would prefer a smaller track saw but the wood I use and my projects necessitate the bigger depth.  Having fun planking my own wood, shaping it to size and using a local place in Michigan to dry the wood for me.  Once the weather gets a bit warmer the projects can begin.

Welcome! Don’t worry, you’ll have a collection of Festool track saws soon enough. I reach for the corded 55 most, lightest weight of the bunch. Also, you can put a 150mm pad on your ets ec and run one size paper. OF1400 is also a great choice, as is the TS75. Cheers!

This is absolutely true. I started with a TS55, bought a TS75 when the need for deeper cuts inevitably came along, then a TS60 as soon as I could get ahold of one.
The routers do it to  [big grin]

No Pic, but after selling my topcon laser, i had enough to get a new TSC 55KEB.

Wasnt even an hour old and was asked to cut a shelf thing in half to fit through a door by my wife - WIN :)

Ive got my eye on the DF500 and OF1400 and accessories this year too.....slowly slowly

OF1400 EQ-F-Plus Plunge Router w/ Systainer³ (US-Imperial)
Just grabbed the last floor model that Farm and Fleet had.  Just need to grab some new tracks to use with this since the Makita's don
t work with the guide rail stops.

SYS3 drawer bonanza arrived today! Yohoo! I’m moving in! [big grin]
- No “spring” loaded tabs on the sides of the new drawers, they’re hold back by a taller back panel - so you just lift the drawer up to release it! I like that..

Be aware that the new drawers is slightly lower on the inside measures than the “old” T-Lock.

Wow [member=71478]FestitaMakool[/member] that's an impressive set. I assume that you have something specific in mind?

[member=71478]FestitaMakool[/member] my Lamello Zeta accessory set came in a Tanos SYS3 3 drawer same as yours, they are absolutely sensational for storing parts, very little space wasted in the design, and the drawer locks are terrific. I'll definitely be getting more for storing biscuits and the Domino/Zeta connectors in!

Are these type of systainers only available in Europe or are they available in NA.  I noticed the latch is different.  I am thinking if they change the systainer (again) then that will push a lot of out-of-date stock into being discounted.  Asking for a friend.

[member=58857]Crazyraceguy[/member] - Definitely, it’s impressive by me too haha! I’ve never bought 4 empty systainers before (most was 2 T-Lock Combi). In the shadows, I hope to get more tidbits easy reachable at hand and organised - I have many things I have spent consideration buying and that I prefer and love to use… Short: I’d like to avoid rising blood pressure looking for tools and accessories  [big grin] It drains me [blink].
And when I first saw these: I knew (I have one T-Lock 3 drawer from before) this is it. And for a good/right price. Converted to USD it was $122 each split equal on 4 - That was landed cost including freight, customs and local tax (25%).

[member=75933]luvmytoolz[/member] I know, I watch most of Heiko Rech’s videos on YT - I saw that Lamello uses this systainer. Yes I think the SYS3 version has a bit more positive latches. Although the last gen is also very good.

[member=72457]Yardbird[/member] These are probably on the way or in the making to you too I believe. I cannot se why these should be held back to outside Europe.
Beware, right after my order was released and shipped to me (Preorder placed January 25th) They are now back ordered by up to 20 days lead time at the same dealer.

If you have any questions, I’ll be happy to answer.

I thought that would be appropriate in this thread:

Well, i spent more monies...... [big grin] [blink], havent quite told my wife what i spent, yet.. will wait till after i get paid to cover yesterdays fun,
I went to check al tool shop that had some festool clearance items, and the 2 "old" DF500 domino kits were $120 off down to $279.
I was tempted to get both, but as i didnt have a domino yet that seemed silly.
So i also purchased the DF500 they had!

Got to the counter and the salesman noticed the price was $1945 instead of the $2045 it should be, and after telling me he didnt actually have to honour the cheaper price, did anyway ( which was nice of him  [smile] )

The domino kit i brought seems essentially the same as the current one except it has a different festool model number.....still has 1060 parts etc etc.

And i purchased the 1 Sys AZ tray they had, as my shed draws are now full and i need to build something to keep the space clear.

I suppose I wasn't there to witness the interaction or hear the actual tone of the conversation, but this sort of thing turns me off of many retail establishments.  It doesn't seem like he wasn't "being nice", it sounds like he was "being passive aggressive".  Don't act like you're doing me a favor by holding up your end of the bargain when a price rings up that you didn't expect.

[member=78392]Crispy[/member] the difference between those kits is just the Systainer itself, thus the new item number.
The old ones are T-Loc and the new ones are Sys3, contents the same.
