What Festool Did You buy Today?

Wow, is that thing solid? IE, not tubing? I have never seen one in person.

I believe it is...it certainly feels like a solid chunk of aluminum. I'd estimate it weighs the same weight as the Stabila 80 Series 24" model with magnets. It's getting more love everyday in spite of the shipping charges... [sad]...just noticed today that Festool is now selling it in the US.

My only 2 requests...I wish it was more accurate and I wish it had some magnets installed.

After years of seeing what I thought were tools I would never bring myself to justify the cost, I found a RS2e on FB Marketplace for what I thought was a decent price.  The guy delivered it a couple of days ago and explained he bought it for a large job where he had to refinished tables for a bar, tried it for 5 minutes and decided he would just use his Rotex instead.  So it sat in his shops for a few years until he decided to sell it.  He said the sheet of paper on the pad was the one from the factory.

It looks brand new.  I paid $225.

I knew I needed to get a vac for it so a few hours after making this deal I found the recon site had the CT36 for $691 so I grabbed one of those.  It was meant to be.  My wife wants to know why I am drinking green Koolaid now.

[member=81852]USAF Flyboy[/member] you got an absolute steal on that RS2E mate! It is just such a brilliant sander!

Paired with the dust extractor just unstoppable!

Well after ogling it for a year I finally relented and bought the full SYS 50 kit with the stand. It sucks that it only comes with the 5.2ah battery kit, so I got the 8ah battery kit as well.

I have to say it's living up to all the hype so far, fantastic saw, and man I absolutely love the sliding table, that's so incredibly useful for me with the smaller stuff I do!

It's one of the cheap clamps off Banggood, around $25AUD each, but fantastic quality and fully compatible with Festool, etc. I'll be buying a bunch more down the track. Incredibly handy.

If you google "VEIKO 2PCS Alloy Steel Upgrade Quick Ratchet clamps" you'll see plenty.

Thank you very much.  I am going to order a pair of these clamps.

I had taken my Planex and Ac36 down to St Augustine, FL to finish drywall at my daughters.  This was probably 10 years or more ago.  She and her fiancé had brought it back up a couple years later and I had not needed to use until recently.  Here they had not returned the hose with it.  I used an older 36mm hose but my OCD insists that I purchase a proper one.  Luckily, Hartville had one on EBay with a damaged box that I saved $40+.

2022:  TS 55 FEQ
2023:  TS 60 K; CT-26 E; DF 500
2024:  ETS EC 150/3 + Net abrasives combo set; OF 1400 EQ-F.

Rotex 150 has caught my eye after I demoed one, but haven’t really needed one yet.

Really need to get off my ass and put the tools to work and get my garage organized while I’m at it.

Hopefully running in parallel/tandem, and not as a replacement?

Another CT-36, I think it is #6 maybe 7?

Tom

They are all up and running. Need it for another workstation.

Going over the recon site to see if they have any CXS’s up, need at least 2 more.

no such thing as too many vacs, I have four Festools, two Feins, two Milwaukee and one Metabo cordless.

Especially so if one fails! I have a CT36 that stopped working 6 months back that I need to loo at when I have time, but it's not at all urgent as I have 3 more Festools, (one over 40 years old and still going strong!) and two general purpose 4" extractors, so no down time as a result of the inactive CT36!

I tried to purchase a CT-VA cyclone module, marked at $599 from current $685 price ( A4 page with GIANT red writing), not quite $100, but it allowed me to pick up a new triangle sanding pad for $83 until........

Got to the counter and the salesman is like ummmmm i have to talk to the manager first, as it shows $685 in the system.
Boss man is like , yeah nah sorry we cant sell it to you at that price.
Festool will think we gave you a discount and cancel our sales contract and pull all festool stuff from the store, and ban us from selling festool.

So as its a standard price, i left it on the counter, it wasnt really a need, more of a want.
And if its the standard price i can get it any time in store or online for that price ( until Festool keeps upping the prices every couple of months)

Picked up some random stuff on the way home yesterday - another roll board, a saw blade and an 'energy set'.
I wanted a blade for my TSC55 that would leave a kerf with a flat bottom/square corners and the laminate cutting blade looks like it will fit the bill.
The energy set has x2 of the new 18v/8.0ah high power batteries, Airstream charger and systainer with insert. The insert has openings for two more batteries and another charger. Not sure if I'll use it, as designed, yet. The batteries are quite big, compared to the normal 5.0 Airstream batteries. Charger is a lot heavier, too.
