What Festool Did You buy Today?

I kept one, even have the card grandpa wrote grandma that Christmas when he gifted it to her. She loved these. No metal to scrap, though. ;)

And speaking of long drill bits, try to source the small diameter SDS-plus ones in significant lengths and made by an reputable manufacturer locally in a hurry …

Armeg in the UK has up to 400mm working length SDS-plus drill bits starting at 6mm diameter. (https://armeg.com/products/qfds-sds-plus-hammer-drill-bits-single-tip/ ) I was lucky my industrial supplier sells these, “life saver”.

Kind regards,
Oliver

oops....my mistake.  :-[

Anyway, back on topic.  Got the blue tooth module for the CT36.  I was surprised how easy it was to fit, take the cover off and slot in the module.  Easy.  I know Festools are well designed, but why use two 80mm x 6mm hex head screws to hold in the plastic cover.  Seems a little "over engineered" to me - unless it's something to do with the air tool module.

You gonna share? I think I have all the necessary equipment, with the possible exception of that freakishly long drill bit.

Jeff that freakishly long drill bit is the magic...you need to reach at least 7" into the handle to clean out the reinforcement ribs in the center of the handle. It's an aircraft drill bit used to drill holes in weird locations, it's commonly available and I use them often for installing 2X structural members with screws. In this case I used it as a burr to clean out the interior ribs of the handle.
So the heavy lifting was done with the drill bit used as a burr while the long files smoothed out the interior cuts. I initially tried the chisel and that was pretty crude to say the least. I then went for the files and if I live for another 20 years...maybe they would produce a finished product.  [blink]

Ultimately, clean out the short sections with the chisel, then beaver out the ribs with the aircraft drill and smooth out the interior with the files.

FWIW...the files in order are: Pferd Corinox #0 stainless file, Pferd aluminum #0 and a Nicholson body file.

Well, my old trusty Makita died and thus I needed a new somewhat powerful drill to complement my collection of CXSes (3 of the old models and 1 CXS18). Due to the positive comments here (in the thread "Best drills for woodworking") I choose the T18+3. It arrived today, but I haven't yet had the time take take it for a test drive. Hope it is as smooth as the old model CXS.

Today I got two things from  ;D FESTOOLRECON.  The Festool Planer HL 850 E-F-Plus and the Carvex Jigsaw.  Been looking for both for some time so I'm excited to see them make it to the RECON.

Cheers
D

The OF1010 accessory kit came in today. I assumed the micro Systainer was empty, for your added stuff, but it contains all of the screws for the base plates. I should have moved the card, on the right side, out of the way. It covers the bit storage holes, both 8mm and 1/4"

It wasn't today, and I didn't buy it, but my wife surprised me with a couple Festool goodies a couple weeks ago.

That's a nicely organized kit. Wish I didn't already have over half of it.

I kind of did too Jeff. I have a few of the copy rings (not all) and the centering cone.
The main thing I was after is the wider base plate, but the other things will get used too. The Systainer gives me a better place to store the right angle adapter, chip defector, etc. plus a few bits.

Been eyeballing this kit too, hate having to ship twice through Scotland.

Scored an OF2200 finally, and in case I forgot to mention it, huge thanks to Squall line and Edwarmr for helping me put together a full vac sys set for less than eBay crack prices. Appreciate you both. (Great packaging kudos to both too!)

I bought the CSC 50 Set.  I've played around a little bit with it on Friday and Saturday and although I think it is very expensive, I absolutely love it!

I also bought the 16 tooth ripping blade and the 28 tooth combination blade.  The ripping blade cut through 1 13/16" thick hard maple like a hot knife through butter.

Good for you... GMW [big grin] [big grin] ... I'm jealous.  [smile]

It's been quite a journey and I applaud that.

Congrats! After having mine a couple months now I'm wondering why on earth I waited so long! The convenience and performance is astounding, but that sliding table, wow! It is just so incredibly useful.

The new style edge guide for the OF1010 came today.
I also got one of the Festool mini Systainers, with the clear top.

I'm in the process of building a little cabinet for them.

Well, I finally did it I ordered my first Festool product today: the Festool TS 60 KEBQ-F-Plus-FS US. Can’t wait to get my hands on it later this week!

Kitting out with the MFK700.  Originally grabbed the 1.5+vert set, now I'm grabbing the trim base (from EQ/B).  The feeler guide for the horizontal bases though... that design is such a PITA.  No one made a microadjust or quick attach for that thing did they?
