What Festool Did You buy Today?

Our garage door torsion spring broke last week so I went out and bought an FS3000 guide rail that I mounted to the door before the garage door repairman came. That way I was able to ensure the new torsion spring was dialed in for the additional weight of the guide rail and the Fastcap Track Rack brackets.

New but happy to be here. have learn a lot from you guys.
Recently I have been searching second-hand FESTOOLs for my incoming home renovation.

Anyway, when I found a closing shop selling their in stock but brand-new FESTOOLs. I check the product and their reasonable price here.
Finally here's what I got:

CTL MIDI + RS-ST D 27/36-Plus + SYS3 M437: $452
SYS 1 CE-SORT: $306
SYS3 M 137 FS/2-Set: $167
VAC SYS VP + VAC SYS CE1: $766
DF700 EQ + OF1400 EQB: $1400
DS 4/5/6/8/10 1060 BU: $130

All above are brand-new but some of them have been manufactured for a while.

Other second-hand FESTOOLs from elsewhere:

KHC 18 (prototype machine): NO accessories(systainer/handle/keyless chuck). only KHC18 with a SDS chuck $250
CT-VA-20: $208
TXS Li 2.6 Set: $98
DF 500 Q: NO systainer $602
TSC 55 KEB + 5.2Ah x 2 + TCL6 + Dust Bag: NO systainer $539
ETS EC 150/5 EQ: NO systainer $221

Got the TID 18 Basic off of Recon. $109 with a systainer. It will be interesting to see how it compares to the Milwaukee Surge Impact Driver.
I got my TID off of recon as well and it seemed like it was new. I don't have the m18 surge, but the TID is definitely quieter than the regular m18 which I eventually sold off. I have the m12 surge which is great for the smaller stuff as well as to hand off to kids, etc. Used it in a classroom demo and most of the kids were thrilled with it. The TID has a better trigger, like most/all of the Festool drills. Milwaukee doesn't come close, and I'm saying that as someone who also has a lot of team red at home.

@IrvinPang, welcome to FOG! Lots of good people and lot of knowledge around here.

You have done a terrifc job accumulating a great set of tools. There are lots of renovation projects you can accomplish with track saw, sander, both Dominos, a dust extractor, a router and the other kit you acquired. And if you are like me, you will find lots of uses for the Vac Sys.

Tried it last night — mind blown! I never imagined a product could pull off holding things at literally any angle like this. Now I feel like I gotta level up my skills just to be worthy of this beast!

Wait till you start using the Domino's in earnest! Sensational tools!

That's a really nice haul! For really nice prices too. You won't regret buying those tools.

@luvmytoolz : About that. I have been thinking of whether or not to buy a Lamello Zeta P2. I have a lot of projects coming up that needs to be "flat pack", so the finished products can be transported about 900 km. I do have the DF 500 and have just bought a KV-SYS D8 Set systainer to try those connectors.

Would a Lamello really add anything new to the equation? (Of course, I realise it can do more than just enable flat pack furniture.) What can it do that you wouldn't be able to achieve with a Domino? The price of their machines can make even Festool owners weep, so I really don't want to get the feeling "What did I even buy this for?" after a year. I'd really appreciate some input of people that own/use both.

@hdv Absolutely it would add immensely if you're doing flat packs. In fact for any form of carcase or face frame work the Lamello is far better suited than the Domino in most cases in my opinion. It's also superb for fixing window/door frame archs on its own or in conjunction with the Domino's.

I'm sure others will chime in on just how sensational a tool it is, but for me the most amazing aspect is just how much time you save not needing to clamp stuff up and wait for glue to dry! In a pro shop the savings would be incalculable.

And the other aspect is that you can buy 3rd party connectors, that for us here in OZ anyway, are literally 1/10th the cost of the Lamello branded ones, and are just as good from my use and testing.

If it helps this is a thread I started for a mantel project mainly using the Zeta. I freakin love it!

I got a chance to use the TID 18 yesterday. It is not as quiet as the M18 Surge, but much better then the older M18 impact that I used for years. (that thing was really load, to the point of embarrassment).
I did not appreciate how much a good trigger is a benefit. The TID is so predictable to use. The Surge is all or nothing. I realize now that I use the trigger on all my Milwaukee drivers and drills as an on and off switch only.
I kind of wish I had not experience this. Now I am wondering about getting a Festool hand drill.
