What Festool Did You buy Today?

Love me some new old stock. These are unfortunately very hard to find these days, IMO way better than the new style. Makita still makes them though…View attachment 381433
Great find.

I've been looking for these for a little while now as well, no luck so far. I prefer the old design as well because the bottoms are smooth. The new caddies are good, I like the folding handle but with all the contours on the bottom it's a pain to clean and the lip around the edge (the bit that holds screwdrivers etc) gets in the way when you're tipping it out to empty it; all the off cuts and dust etc get caught on the inside of that lip. If that makes sense. The only negative for the old style caddies is the handle doesn't fold. Still a great product though.

Enjoy them.

I'd be interested in hearing about your thoughts on the usefulness of the light on. the ETSC 2.
Not a lot of hours on it yet, but my initial impression is favorable. The light did seem more useful experimenting on super rough stock where it would throw shadows off the peaks. Once I switched over to 150 grit I did find myself turning the light off after awhile. But that was in my shop with good overhead lighting. I'm looking forward to using it onsite with less ideal lighting.

Just disassembled my crosscut sled, stored th hardware and pitched the plywood. I set up my TSC 55 last weekend and have done a few things getting used to it. Bought Festool guide rails, TSO parallel guides and rail square, and I Realized that I’ll never again need the bulky sled. 🙂

I just picked up an 8ah battery set with the sca16 charger.

I didnt realise how heavy the 8s were.
But i should now get more than what feels like 5-10 minutes out of my cordless midi :)

The 8's are great, I get a surprisingly good runtime out of them on my SYS 50. Curious to see how you go with the midi!
