What Festool Item Is the best Value

Got to be the FOG. loads of great ideas and they're all free.

Absolutely Agree.  Value is perceived (as far as I can understand it) A rich man with little time to live, value's time. A poor young boy with a long life to live, values Money.
To me the FOG is the Festool "item" I most value. It's amazing the techniques and different ideas you guys come up with from staring at the same piece of wood. Keep the ideas coming, I'll try to soak up as much as I can , so I can be a better woodworker.

Just like the title says, What tool do you think is the best Value? I think it is the Track saw and guide rail.

The Domino - try buying one from another company.

Dust extractors  for me it is absolutely my most used festool

They compliment almost every tool and the systainer attachment tops make transporting a stack of tools a breeze..  are very quiet, variable suction is great and they pay for themselves by eliminating hours of cleanup

It would depend on the project.
Sometimes its the track saw  sometimes its the domino, sometimes its the C12, sometimes its one of the sanders..

I'd describe 'value' as being amount of use I get out of it vs the cost, and on that basis the best value Festool for me is this one.

Based on your review, and the relative inexpensive price on it, I grabbed one of those sanding blocks and some sandpaper sheets.
I have preppin weapons, and they work great, but sometimes they're a bit overkill in size and weight.
Thanks for the great review. If it works as well for me as it does for you I may grab another one or two.

Not true at all. Value does not mean "cheap", value means "worth". Festools have a high "worth" to many owners. Me included.

Back in the day I have bought tools for €25 that I threw away after 1 hour of frustrating use. If the €500 Festool lasts me for 10 years and makes me work faster, the Festool is a lot more valuable to me.

I do understand the dictionary definition for value, my point was that it is not often a word associated with Festool is all  [smile]

I'm surprised that there aren't more sanders on the list.  The RTS400 is a great value.  It elevated my level of finish above my previous sander from another company, no swirls even in dark-stained hard maple.  The sander's ability to capture dust keeps the air cleaner and allows me to finish in the same space as the sanding.  Then I found that I could use it for drywall...  The sheetrock I do is mostly in smaller areas like bathrooms - the DC again is a great value not having to spend time setting up dustwalls, etc.  Letting the sander do the work has saved my deteriorating shoulders a lot of repetitive motion.  Proactive health benefits that are cheaper than one month's health insurance = great value.

To be able to transport my tools In A stackable box saves me time.( non fenstool tools also).
Btw I just picked up the sys cart dolly thingy,and LOVE it.

That's the thing with Festool. The effectiveness of each item is amplified by its integration with other aspects of the Festool system on a whole.

I have used all my festal tools on my last project. I am still in amassment with the domino 500 and my ct 36 at how clean every thing is. So they are my item to date.

I have to say the festool hold down clamp that comes with the Kapex. Other drop saw clamps are a pain and hassle to use but not this puppy. Such an underrated attachment but so simple and for me an essential piece of kit when using the Kapex.
