I have a CT-VA 20 on pre-order and wanted to get the extender since it integrates nicely into the cyclone AND I have a sleeved hose, only to find out the extender has been discontinued.

Will there be a replacement? Why was it discontinued if there is no replacement?

The 230V variant is still available as of this evening.

Maybe [member=48572]Shane Holland[/member] or [member=78686]Ultimate Tools Rep[/member] can chime in if the 110V US variant is truly discontinued, or just not available at the moment? I can't access toolnut, but Ultimate Tools has it available for "pre-order" - whatever that means while others list it as discontinued. Maybe there's a new/ updated one being released? ->https://www.ultimatetools.ca/products/festool-cable-extender-for-ct-cyclone-ct-va-ak-575668

Kind regards,
Oliver

I had it on pre-order at acetool.com and I was notified today by Ace that Festool US has discontinued the item. I also have it in my wish list at US Tool & Fastener and the link to the tool gets a 404. Festool US doesn't list it, either.

Since its primary purpose is to make using the sleeved hoses easier, it almost makes me wonder if those hoses are on the chopping block. We're down to two, I believe, and there used to be more.

I was today years old when I learned that this even existed in any form whatsoever.  Sorry to hear that it's already discontinued.

That said, in this day and age, I can't imagine it would be terribly difficult to come up with a short extension that mounted to the face/front of the CT-VA 20 using either 3D printing, sheet metal, or otherwise.

Thanks for the double confirmation, Shane.

Royal bummer that Festool does this kind of thing. I could see it if the CT-VA was discontinued or going through a design change that eliminated the port for the extender. Still, it's a $40~ish item.

I may make a trip to my local Festool dealers to see if there's one collecting dust on their dusty displays.

Quick update. I found one at a local dealer, though they're not exactly "local" to me in the sense of bridge toll, drive time, etc..., so they're shipping it to me.

Sometimes, the ole phone works.

Hi [member=61712]six-point socket II[/member]. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We also see it as discontinued. The Pre-Order button on our site shows when we are out of stock of a product but still have the ordering ability turned on. In this case, since the product is no longer available, it should not have been available for order and I removed it from our site.
