Whats the best site to buy Festool tools? I used Toolnut in the past but lately have had terrible customer service/refusal to issue a refund with 30 Day window. What other websites to you use for new Festool products? Thanks.

Shocking to hear. Tool Nut has always gone above and beyond for me. Is there more to the story? When I saw the subject line, I was immediately going to recommend them. Fast free shipping, great packaging, great communication, and great knowledge & service all around.

Not my experience with Toolnut, in fact quite the opposite.  But if you're looking for options, I think it's always good where feasible to patronize a local brick and mortar dealer, especially in these times when in person sales are so precarious.

I've also been very happy with ToolNut for purchases...'never any issues. I started using them when "Uncle Bob" retired...

The advise to see what's available locally is a good idea, however...the prices will be the same and you'll be supporting folks in your neighborhood. There is also a vendor section at this forum site to peruse.

I'm genuinely sorry to hear that any of our customers have had a negative experience. All of my colleagues work diligently to make sure that every customer is treated like they are our only customer. But, we are human and mistakes can happen.

Please always feel free to reach out to me directly.

[member=74220]3Putt[/member], I sent you a DM to get some additional details if you're willing to share that. Festool offers a 30-day money back guarantee on all power tools. Festool's money back guarantee excludes accessories and consumables. Our standard return policy is 30-day as long as the product is in unused condition unless it's damaged or defective on receipt. For the holidays, we are extending our returns policy to allow returns through January 15th.

Now that most on-line stores charge state sales tax, there's no longer any advantage for me so I purchase Festool items locally from Woodcraft, Acme or Twin Tool. Just trying to keep the local merchants profitable and in business.  [big grin]

I have always used my local dealer. The price savings has been insignificant for me to order online and deal with the hassle if something happens.

I have three Woodcraft franchises roughly equidistant from me.  The one that stands out (by far) is Woodworkers Club in Rockville, MD.  Woodworkers Club distinguishes itself by having very knowledgeable and generally well-trained staff on hand to answer questions regarding Festool products (and others).  Too often I have stopped in at the other two, only to find that Festool products on display have been set up wrong and/or are missing parts, and the staff didn't seem to care when I mentioned the issues.  Find a retailer whose management really does care and whose staff knows and supports the products.  [smile]

I wanted to chime in with an excellent experience with my local festool dealer KJP Select Hardwood in Ottawa Ontario.
I just moved to the area and started setting up a new shop. I was cutting full sheets of plywood and was struggling. I decided to look up what KJP had for festool tables thinking I'd buy a second mft or mw1000 extension table. They had a few STM 1800s in stock. I called them up, placed an order for local delivery. The guy on the phone told me if the order didn't make it onto the delivery truck that afternoon, he would personally drop it off on his way home from work.
I had it at my door in an hour!
I was super impressed and excited to get to work. This is the start of a beautiful and expensive friendship.

For many of us there is no local dealer. The nearest vendor to me is about 2.5 hours away.

When Bob Marino retired, he passed the mantle to Beaver Industrial Supply in Saint Louis MO. I have been using them since with good luck. The plus is that they are that dealer 2.5 hours away so that if I order early enough I can usually get it the next day or in two days if in stock.

They have a dedicated Festool site:
https://festools-online.com/

But I generally go through the main site:
https://beavertools.com/

They are an authorized dealer for several brands including Mirka, Jet, Powermatic etc.

I buy Festool gear from a variety of sources:

Local:  Woodcraft and Tooland (San Carlos CA)

Internet:  Amazon, Festool Nirvana (especially sand paper assortments), Highland woodworking

Depends on stock and shipping costs.  I agree with [member=44099]Cheese[/member] about sales tax, so I do give preference to local dealers.

I typically use Amazon. I got the Amazon card specifically for use on amazon so I atleast get 5% off.  I usually average about $50 or more back a month so every so often it helps take a bite out of a festool or other purchase.  I havent ever tried to send any Festool purchases back though.

I also typically use Amazon and FestoolNirvana. FestoolNirvana is local to me, it's less than a half an hour away and the owner is a really nice guy who can customize an assortment of sandpaper almost however you want.

I tried Toolnut for a couple of purchases and also had negative experience which was about the store policy, not about customer service. I purchased a RAS 115 when it was on clearance for $215 and a few days later the price has dropped to $199. I called and asked if they can adjust my purchase price. I was told they can't. What's the point, I asked, if Festool has a no risk try and buy 30 day policy, I can simply send the tool back and buy a new one at a lower price. I was told that I can certainly do that, but I will be responsible for shipping my item back to Toolnut. What?! That's not a risk free purchase policy. Shipping a SYS2 tool costs around $30-40. Shipping back a TSC55 in SYS5 would be a lot more.
Why would I ever buy a tool I'm not certain I would like from a dealer who doesn't provide a free (or discounted) return shipping? That's why I stick with Amazon and local dealers.

I have had good luck with Highland woodworking when I have needed to order online.

I use Anderson Plywood in Culver City calif. Don Ware and Allan Kensley know more about those tools than anyone I know you have question prior to purchase youll get a honest answer out of them even if its dont buy it ya wont need it

I am fortunate to have a Woodcraft within an hour in Madison, Wisconsin. Other than new employees they are very knowledgeable and responsive always either providing accurate answers or getting the answer if they don’t already know it. I prefer to buy in-person if possible. That allows me to see the tool before buying to make sure there are no obvious problems. I have only returned one Festool toool in the 30 days because of a defect. I have bought other tools and sandpaper from Toolnut and have always been satisfied with their customer service.

I typically go there for my addiction and I send some of the business to woodcraft in Orange County. They’ve been very forthcoming about answering questions. To a lesser extent I go to rockler to amuse myself.

My closest dealer is 2.5 hours away, so I just ordered Festool TS 55 REQ-F Plus FS w/55" Rail 576012, Festool 482107 Guide Rail Connector and Festool FS-1400/2 55" Guide Rail (1,400 mm) from Amazon. All is supposed to arrive on Nov. 4.

I use my local Woodcraft (if the have stuff in stock) or Festool Nirvana. Chip at Festool Nirvana is great to work with.
