CRG, were you cutting laminated stock? The bit looks worn out at the 5/16” depth.

770 series 3. Didn’t replace it with anything. Was moving and decided to sell it befor the move. No room for a mill unfortunately and used market on tormachs is currently crazyluvmytoolz said:festal said:[member=44099]Cheese[/member] i think i have the same model back from my Tormach days. 1100? What did you replace it with or you got out of metal machining?

The Tormach's are really nice machines, used to enjoy watching them in use on NYC CNC's channel. We didn't have them available in OZ when I bought my Taiwanese knee mill, although if they were around the price would have been pretty obscenely high anyway as all higher end imports were (and still are) then. I don't use it much but I do love using it when I do.
Cheese said:FWIW...I was just curious if these 5" 3M Cubitron II sample packs were still available and to my surprise they still are. You can order a single pack or multiples, it's a great way to expose yourself to ceramic media on a film disc...not a paper disc. They're normally $1.20 per disc.
Pack 87338 with 3 each of 80-120-150-180 & 220 for 43¢ per disc.
Pack 87435 with 5 each of 240-320 & 400 for 44¢ per disc.

While digging around at RS Hughes I noticed they also offer sample packs of 3M Xtract Cubitron II discs which is a net product similar to Abranet or Granat Net. The sample packs are available in 5" & 6" diameter discs. Each sample pack contains 2 each discs in 80+, 120+, 180+, 220+, 240+ and 320+ grit for a total of 12 discs per pack.
For 5" discs the price is 5 cents per disc [jawdrop] [jawdrop] while the 6" discs cost 7 cents per disc. I'm just going to order a 20-pack (case) of each size and be done with it.
