What - non Festool - tool / workshop related gizmo/stuff did you buy today?

The Bridge City Tools mailings seem to be how they manage inventory and ensure cash flow --- if you're willing to wait, pretty much everything cycles around --- just takes a bit of patience.

I did grab a Jointmaker Pro a while back, and still need to get a stand....

I ordered the HP-8 mini block plane after seeing Sedge use it.  At $69.00 it was perfect to keep in a tool bag in my van.  It is a beautiful little tool, almost to pretty to use  It is perfect for cleaning up wood window stops and frames when replacing glass and insulated units.

Not a tool as such but something essential I absolutely cannot do without when working in the shed or outside, a new radio from my son to replace the prior ones that drove me up the wall as they would constantly drift the station settings!

And of course it's set to the 80's, best decade ever for music!

The late 70s bled into the early 80s.... there was a bit of a lull in the mid 80s and the "Hair bands" and "Glam Rock" came in the later part.
I didn't get along with the "Alt" or "New Wave". It was 70s bands still going in the 80s that made it likeable for me.
Of course, I would think that things were at least a bit different in OZ?

Late 70's/early 80's was high school. Straddled Boston/Kansas/Pink Floyd rock and Devo/B-52's new age.

The former is still in my rotation, latter didn't have the same staying power. Vans slip-ons and 501 straight legs have aged pretty well.

Weird Pink Floyd was good until the second half of “Dark Side of the Moon” when they became Pop Pink Floyd. Just one old coot’s opinion. Also prefer early Fleetwood Mac.

Ron, that's a heckuva nice looking item for 70 bucks. Is it comfortable to use for general stuff without removing the side guides?

I agree.  When disco hit I decided to stick with the old stuff.  Moody Blues, David Bowie, Blue Oyster Cult-it was all good.

I completely agree with [member=75933]luvmytoolz[/member] - - - 80s was the best decade for sure!  I found Springsteen and the E Street Band in the 80s.  They have been my favorite ever since.

Not really...as with everything else in life, there are those folks that are right and everyone knows that, and then there are the other folks that are absolutely wrong...the 60's-70's reigns supreme while the eighty's thing needs some support and the 90's thing needs life support.  [popcorn] [popcorn]

Also a big fan of early Pink Floyd and early Fleetwood Mac...and then there's always Axis Bold as Love...

Pretty sure my tinnitus started when I put that 8 track tape in my portable stereo and lay down on the floor with the left speaker up against my left ear and the right against my right ear.

My radio in the shop is turned on whenever I plan to spend more than 5 minutes there. The best decade of music is always dependent on the listener's age. 70s for me and 80s close to best. A local channel used to play mostly music in the 70s, but it no longer does that, and now plays old as well as new songs.

Don't forget the first 2 Heart albums, or most any Rock of the era with rhythm and lead guitars. Just realized a lot of my favorites did come out mid-70's.

The best thing about smart phones is loading them up with flac ripped from cds, pairing good noise canceling headphones, and spending hours inside my personal concert hall.

Way too much great music starting in the sixties.  The British Invasion, Motown, the harmony groups, R&B, prog rock and grunge… great stuff.  Not wild about rap, country (although it’s mostly pop now) and opera.  I do have a collection of classic and jazz.
The little plane is nice, I’ve used it with and without the sides.  It makes a little jointer with one side dropped all the way.

Don't know of anyone who is into death metal stuff. A teen neighbor still in high school, due to her father's influence, is a fan of Depeche Mode, though. Quite unusual for a Gen Z to be appreciative of music from the 80s.
