I use my old style systainer as a step stool all the time (they are sturdier for this than the t loc, and i'm small ish/light weight). for places w low ceilings i don't need to bring a ladder.

sys3 for small install wrap-up visit, then continuing by subway to the beach- cxs, fasteners, etc. on one side, towel and shorts, lunch, scotch on the other side.

stack of systainers with a few shims to elevate cabinets exactly in place for installing to walls. especially good for one person installs.

small work top/sawhorse setup, with rubber mat/shelf liner on top to keep material from sliding around.

stacked to work as mft top extension, to hold long stock while x cutting.

for appealing looking storage of 90% of my tools in a small NYC apartment.

making a stack to a convenient height, next to mft, to place ts55, biscuit joiner, etc, onto after each cut on mft table. put a rubber mat on top and the tool won't slide off when you run into the vac hose or power cord.

We use a systainer 5 for a wine case.  I had hard foam cutout in cicrcles for the wine bottles to sit in and afoam top for the lid.  It holds twelve bottles of wine with no problems and is great for our trips to Europe.  We have brought back several cases without ever losing a bottle to the TSA gorillas.

Hopefully Frank Pellow will see this thread.  He has a really interesting setup using some of the Tanos accessories as well as modifications that he made.  Franck Tetreau uses some as suitcases when he is travelling.

How did you attach the clipboard to the top? I see screws, but those don't go through the plastic, I assume. Adhesive of some sort?
