What pads for polishing freshly sprayed car top coat?

I've resprayed a few panels on a car I've been working on. Needs a good polish to finish it off. I'm not sure what pads to get for my Rotex 125.

Should it be the sponge pad like this:

Or the one like this:

I plan to use it with the 5000 grit polishing compound.

I'd save the Honeycomb/waffle style pad for waxing. They are really flexible but a bit more fragile than the standard pattern pad. Use the plain foam pad for that buffing out.
