What VAC to buy for a TS55 REBQ ?

Last week I finally bought a TS55 REBQ to mainly saw through sheets of plywood or mdf. As the saw emits a lot of dust during sawing, and I have a rather tight workspace, I want to buy a dust extractor.

I was reading in the manual and browsing through this forum and read that a36 mm hose is recommended for this saw.

Therefore I am tempted to order one of the following:

CTL 36 E AC HD : comes with a 36 mm hose
CTL 26/36 E AC : comes with a 27 mm hose;

With the latter, I have to order an additional 36 mm hose in order to achieve optimal dust extraction for this saw.

What would you guys recommend ?

The AC (auto clean) is only required for things like fine plaster dust that clod filters and are not necessary for the TS55. They also come with a different end on their 36mm hose.

The standard CTs with a 27mm hose will work fine but if you want to maximise your dust collection then a 36mm hose will work better but it won't fit the sanders or the small routers without adaptors.

I would buy a standard CT. Then your only choice is capacity. I would go for the larger capacity if you are in a shop. If you are carrying on a no site then probably a midi.

I would skip the CT36 AC unless you are doing drywall. The D27 hose that comes with the other vacs does a very good job of DC. The D36 hose is an improvement , but only a small one on the TS55. I do not think you will be disappointed with the DC using a D27 hose on the TS55.

I would go with the standard CT to pair with the TS55.  I have a CT36 and the capacity is great.  I also have a Midi when mobility is needed.  I have a 36mm hose that is typically paired with my Kapex in the shop.  I have used ithe 36mm hose with the TS and the DC is not much better if noticeable at all.  The larger size hose can also get in the way once in a while.

There are some site that quote performance. I recall the Bosch or star Mix being high.
Any works pretty well, so if cost and colour are not an issue get any. HEPA is also available from multiple manufacturers

I have owned the TS55req since last Christmas. and have been using it with a cheap vacuum with good results. I have now sitting under my Christmas tree the CT midi. I was torn between the CT26 of the Midi, after looking at them side by side I went for the Midi.

The reasons is it will be used on site so getting it about is priority, unlike being left at a workshop. The ct26 is big, as you said your tight on space, another factor is that they should have the same suction power so the choice is how much capacity you need. I'd rather change the midi bag when full than lug a heavy full CT26 on about and if you dont need or intend to have all the trimmings fitted to the Vac, Boom arm, work station the midi is ideal.

The 27 mm hose should be ok for most work and having 36mm hose would be more bulky to work with, someone else might think different on that.
You can fit the 36 mm to the Midi as well with out the right angle adapter.

i have a 26, and [member=42338]sw130p[/member] has a some good points about the smaller one.
And points out that the cheapie did well too.

IMO a vacuum with a filter become more required as the dust gets finer (sanding).
They all basically suck, and many filter.

I would say that if your in the UK, doing site work, I'd advise getting an M class vac, when I got my ts55, I also got a ct midi, think that would be suitable, which it was worked perfectly, until I took it on site and was informed it needed to be M class for when cutting mdf and plywoo, God love the HSE

In the end I ordered a CTL26 AC, because i will indeed be doing some drywall sanding as well (did not mention that in my first post) later on and thought the autoclean feature would be a bonus to that. I am not UK based an will not take it on site, it will solely be used in my hobby room 

I managed to get 18% reduction on the vacuum, so I thought it was a good offer. I will try it out after christmas and let you know what I think of it.

The CT26 is plenty big for the TS55.  Be sure to get the 27mm hose.  The 36mm is way to heavy and bulky for a track saw.  Works great on the Kapex, though.
