Whats "new" about the CT26?

Hi,
I was just about to place an order for a CT26 and stumbled on the fact that some vendors are offering different part numbers. For example; 574930 and 577083. I tried to read up about this at the Festool site and they list the 577083 as the current USA model and include a "new" label on the web photo, but I can not find any elaboration regarding what is new. Can I assume it is both "new" and improved?

The CT26 was updated in 2018.  Some sites may still have the old part number for some reason or another, but it would be worth checking if it's old stock or just an old number.

Here are some of the updates (not exhaustive, but fairly complete):

• Smooth covered hose
• Tapered hose
• Different tool end for hose
• Cord wrap
• Stronger hose garage

Amazon is notorious for mixing up article numbers, descriptions and pictures... while hiding the actual EAN / GTIN.

That's a list that I cribbed together from other discussions about the updates in 2018.  I think maybe the cord wrap update was the rotating ear?  Was that a thing on the older ones?

I don't think so? That must be it, an improvement.

The rotating ear to immediately release the whole cable wasn't on the earlier CT 26's.
