What's Peter Halle's Story? (diagnosed with cancer)

Glad for the update Peter.  Hang in there with that positive attitude.  Was nice to chat on the phone the other day.

So all of you know, the money has made it over to the big man's hands.

Thank you for the updates.  Keep at it, we all wish you the best and 'Festest' recovery [wink]

Peter,

Not questioning your health care providers, but during this ordeal, have you had a PET Scan; or would a PET Scan not help in detecting your type of cancer?

Yes, one of the last imaging tests I had before starting treatment was a PET scan which ultimately shows the cells metabolisim which is higher that the otters around it.  It was explained that taking a pet scan right know would not any good.  Rathher that seeing the glow of the active cancer cells you might be seeing the glow of the new white cells attacking the dead cells. Time will tell.

I remember being told the same thing. First time I lit up like a Christmas tree, 4 treatments in, the shrinking tumors were quite visible indicating the treatments were working.

Good luck... I hope your next PET Scan shows similar results. [thumbs up]

Peter,
Thanks for the updates.
Also, thanks for the warning on hearing problems.
I hear crickets, cicadas and katydids 24/7 year round.
But that has nothing to do with never having worn ear protection when doing things like:
running tractors and back hoes
shooting guns
running chainsaws
hearing my wife yel............ er, ah! that's another topic

Well, getting ready for Round Three of Five of chemo starting tomorrow.  Not looking forward to being hooked up to an i.v. for 52.5 hours over 5 days plus additional time on the days before and after those, but boy do I consider myself one of the most blessed people on the face of the earth.

The last two weeks at home have been the typical roller coaster but the hills were flatter than I thought this time around and far better than what I understand to be the norm.  So far I have been blessed to not have had any nausea and basically the second week saw a return to work at about 75% of normal workload.

You guys here have been a blessing and my heartfelt thanks go out to every one of you for everything you have done.  During the next week I will get my Festool kicks reading about your adventures, so keep posting interesting stuff [thumbs up].

You can beat it beat it peter! My family has battled with this and thinking positive is the best weapon to kick it in rear.  We are all thinking of you and hope your recovery is speedy festool buddy!

I haven't been posting, but I've been following along with your updates.  Great to hear you're doing well Peter!  Keep it up!

I look forward to seeing you in person again next year at the Toolnut!

Peter, I want to wish you the Best. I have learned so much here in the last 6 months and appreciate insights you bring to this forum. My father passed away in 1971 from the same cancer when he was 22 and I was only 8 mo, thought to be from Agent Orange in Vietnam. The treatments are much better and way more effective than those in the early 70's and I have positive thoughts you will pull through this a champion! :)

Thanks for the update Peter.

Glad to hear you are making progress and feeling OK with the treatments.

Peter,
We all appreciate your great getting well updates.
For me, my best clue that you are feeling better is that I keep spotting your smiling face elsewhere on the FOG.  You are keeping up, maybe not at the pace we are all accustomed to, but you are here with us.

And, the best news has been that you are getting back to work. Slowly, but that is a great good sign.
