So, in the spirit of the season of giving, just curious what others consider the best gift they've given or received.
This time of year, I feel compelled to do random acts of kindness, almost always anonymously. Something that I've had several recent opportunities to do. It brings joy to my heart and I often well up with emotion when I have the chance to see the person's reaction.
For me, the best gift to receive is the thing that I want but just won't buy myself. I've been given trash pickup service as a birthday gift and I really appreciate it because it's not something I would probably pay for myself, but it's a great convenience in the somewhat rural area where I live.
Edit: My favorite thing that I've ever received was my first computer when I was 13 years old. My parents saw my passion for computers and made an investment in my future. Something I'll always be grateful for.
Personalized and handmade gifts are always great too. I'm sure there are many here who are working on those now.
What are yours?
