I'm a newbee, but my next intricate project (I really enjoy building large scale projects, like complete, wall to wall, floor to ceiling, garage cabinets, i.e. Lots of boxes), is to create a game box for my mom.
She enjoys lots of games, particularly Scrabble, Dominos (she loves my Festool, BTW), and Chess. I'd like to create a box that was heirloom quality that could store these games, and possibly be expanded for others (Backgammon, Chinese Checkers, etc.) in the future. I've been "designing" for over a year, but I haven't cut a single piece of wood, yet. I want to use some really exotic woods (I'm in north America,) and really build something special. I'd like to do hand made dovetails, and inlays for the game boards, but we'll see what really gets done.
Eventually, I'll make her cry...
