I am itching to test the new C12, so I wanted to know when the dealers will be getting their demo drills? My b-day is next month and I'm going to add another Festool drill to my arsenal. Unfortunately, I am not sure if I want the CXS or the C12. I currently have a T15 that gets a lot of use, but I would like something a little lighter for easy drilling like drawer slides and cabinet hardware. I think the decision will take place after I test drive both drill side-by-side at my local dealer.
When will our dealers get the new drills?

Honestly there is a huge difference between the new and old C12. I think you can get a fair idea of which you'd prefer between the CXS and old C12, so I wouldn't wait to try.

I don't have a specific date, but those dealers who order demo tools should receive them in the coming weeks. Technically, if you just want to compare those drills, you could test drive a T12. It's the exact same thing as the C12, just in a different package.
I really want to feel the 10 ounce difference between the two drills, so I am willing to wait to try the two side-by-side. I know there isn't much a difference between the old and new C12, but I have a feeling that touching one will be a lot better than just looking at a picture or playing with an old C12.
The worst thing that can actually happen, to my wallet and not to me, is that I bring home both drills. I can always approach this as a b-day and Christmas present to myself. I spoke to my local dealer today and he said he would give me a ring once he receives his demo.
