When I type a GB pound sign it posts as a question mark anyone know why. I have ignored it for months but can anything be done about it ?

I asked Matthew about this a couple of years ago. It's something to do with the coding, I think. I always use GBP instead of a pound sign, i.e. "GBP9.99".

I think someone else suggested that other users should use the 3 letter currency code, too, such as USD instead of $, simply because there are many different currencies that use dollar, and the value is different.

Yea, i got caught out with the question mark the first time also. Now, like Johnny, i use GBP

Good Morning,
Unfortunately, this has to do with the basic text coding of the forum.  The forum is not using what is known as UTF-8, which allows international characters to be displayed.

It's possible to convert the forum to UTF-8, but it is a painstaking process and runs the risk of corrupting the data already posted.  That's why I never did it.

Probably not what you want to hear, but there it is.

Thanks,
Matthew
