Where can I buy a single MFS 200 extrusion?

I am looking for one 200mm extrusion for my MFS 400 setup.  I checked EKAT and there are replacement parts for everything but the extrusions.  I have only seen the extrusions available in Europe or Australia recently, but I would have to buy a pair.  Plus, those sellers don't ship to the USA - at least I haven't found one that does.  Worst case scenario, I could buy another MFS 400 and then I would have an extra 200 along with the ability to use 4 400mm extrusions together.  Not bad, but expensive.  Any ides on where to buy just one 200mm extension?

Thanks everyone!

I think you’re out of luck on this one.

You’ll need to purchase a pair.  [sad]  There are a couple of UK suppliers that ship to the US. Try Engineering Agencies in the UK.

You could also try Amazon.de as they also ship to the US. They’re fast, something like 4-5 days.  [eek]

Yea I don't think you'll find the individual rails easy to get if at all. Id consider buying another MFS 400, keep what you want and sell off the rest on eBay. Guaranteed you aren't the only one looking for individual MFS parts.

Thanks Cheese.  I got a quote from Engineering Agencies.  It was $107 which includes $32 for international shipping.  That was just for the two 200 mm extrusions.

Ben_R  -  I was thinking the same thing. I can't be the only one looking for one!  That's why I was hoping someone else had done this and had the extra 200 mm extrusion.  I am leaning towards the entire MFS 400 set which will give me an extra 200 mm plus the ability to use four 400 mm's at once.  I think I still have to get that internationally though.

Thanks again - Jim

That's a great price...that comes to only $75. When they were available in the US, they cost $135 for a pair of 200 profiles.

What is the cost of a 400 MFS shipped to the US. I thought I’d ask since you have already did the leg work.  I have a 700 and always thought a 400 would be nice to have.  Then again if the 200 mm extrusions are available I could just use the two shorter legs of the 700 with the 200 mm legs right?

Thank you

The entire MFS 400 set from UK is $323 including shipping.  You are right, you would be better off using the two 400's from your MFS700 and buying the two 200's for $107.  That would work just fine.

If purchasing the 200 mm parts separately do you think the connection hardware is included?  Probably not since they are being put as a part and not a set I would think.  I will look into this further

Thank you again for the information

I believe each extrusion has one captive screw with it.  It would be too much trouble to install this.  Plus it is machined smooth with the edge and most folks would not be able to do this type of install.  I don't know if it has the nut that slides in the opposing extrusion but I would hope so.

The extra length pieces did not come with the extrusions that I bought before they were NAINA.  That being said, the last time I checked with Festool USA, the spare parts were still available.  I had bought extra tee nuts, screws, and couplers to work with the aluminum angles that I modified to attach to the exterior of the jigs to make it easier to clamp them to the work.

If you like the MFS... I’d encourage purchasing the extraneous parts before they become unavailable. That’s a given.

Good morning
I just received a quote from Engineering Agency for two 200 mm MFS extrusions.
113.32 plus 30.00 for shipping.  This quote was in British pounds not dollars.  No VAT is mentioned in the quote.  That’s a far difference than the $107.00 dollars quoted in an earlier post
That’s nearly $200.00 US dollars for the two short pieces.

That's $148 US which more closely correlates to the $135 US price tag when they were available 2 years ago in the US. Add in 2 yearly 5% price increases and it all makes sense...unfortunately.

Let’s not forget the shipping on that.  It’s part of the cost of buying.  So the total with the shipping to my door is $187.00.  I might just get the 400 MFS and have two full sets.

I think you ordered two sets (4 total) instead of one set of two 200mm extrusions.  If you look online at part number 492722, it states there are two units.  Here is a snip of my quote:

I believe you are correct.  I see my mistake as I read further down the page.

Thank you.  It looks like I’ll be buying a set instead of two sets.  Boy I would have been shaking my head when two pair arrived and then finding my mistake
