Cheers all, yes Bert I have definitely decided that rather than the 'only difference is the volume' response I got from a local dealer is far from the truth ref.midi and CT26, so if festool it will be CT26 as a minimum. But as Bob frog has just suggested the Bosch is cheaper and better/more suction. , I can see I need to put a stop to my runawayrunaway Festool purchases and check out some comparisons across the whole of my choices. ..on the one hand I need to get on and build the shelves asap so figured if I'm going to purchase decent told in the end I might as well start with them , I clearly am a bit out of date with my research and need to take stock for a day or two to compare and price some options. ..
I couldn't be further from a systainer fanboi, Don't Shot me..... [scared]
But I am such a heathen that I, m not an Lbox fanboi either.... [scared] [scared]
I appreciate the Tannos/Festool/Fein/Lbox systems.but find the cost ridiculously prohibitive in general. MAYBE it's the factory industrial background but I just don't think any of these systems would survive in my work environment at all Hence my further apreciation and favouring of the DWalt Tough system cases and tool trolley approach, including the also ludicrously price radio [big grin]
All that said in a home environment and when a tool comes packaged in a systainer I think they are fine and can see they obviously work in the carpentry/ woodworkers environment. , with reccomendations from people I would trust.
L-box the same but I'm not averse to some Bosch Blue tools and even green (older models) have lasted well in heavy use... so no neccessity to match tools here and in general I'd say quality and get the best in each item but if similar quality and price the storage systems can make a massive difference to both mobility and neat storage. And clearly the tough-system boxes don't have the range flexibility of the Tannos based systems..
The mistake I mentioned above ref VAT has made a massive difference to the prices for my first outlay so off brand might have to be the way I go to get the quantity of required tools.I've seen most brands but have only seen reccomendations of mayfel but generally on the wrong side of festool prices so probably not something I need to worry about
