There is a lot of variation on this topic, it comes up periodically. Some prefer one over the other, some have both. Clearly not a single answer.
I have the XL700 with the senica adapter, TSO BigFoot, and Ramon Dock. This works well for what I do. Beside using it for dominos, I have also used it to make mortises to allow for wood movement when securing a table top to a frame.
I also think the XL700 was designed after the 500, and has better ergonomics and features like dual depth settings and ability to change mortice with without running the tool.
