Which Festool sander for this job?

The 4 painted pillars at the front of my house need to be repainted.  I plan on removing the original paint job with sanding.  I have an RO90, but was wondering if there is another Festool sander that would be better suited for the job.  Not that I'm looking to buy more green or anything...  Thanks for your input.

I dunno, they don't look that large, so I don't think you're really wasting any time on the larger 'inner' field section of the columns when using an RO90 versus a larger diameter sander unless you are trying to blast through some layers of paint to bare wood.  To strip to bare wood, maybe the RAS 115 since it's more aggressive, but also easier to gouge with so take care and practice on something else before you attack your columns if you end up buying a RAS 115... ;D

I think the RO 90 with the delta head would be ideal for the corners, then switch over to the normal pads for the remainder.  Hard to beat this sander for the job.

You can do it with the RO90. If I would do it I would use my RO90 and DTS400.

I would use a pressure washer, especially since it looks like it's peeling already.

Don't know what kind of paint you are used to, but I don't get it off that easily.

RO90, like everyone else has said.  You might want to have some extra delta pads handy, though, since you could easily chew them up when meeting the stone edge.

Why do you need to remove the old paint?
Is it that bad?
If it's coming off easily I would scrape first then sand
If it doesn't come off then just scuff sand 
Prime then paint

I have two Metabo paint removers, the LF714 and LF724, and I've felt like I've wanted a bigger base on both of them. I'm not sure the tiny base of that Paintshaver Pro would be too advisable, it's REALLY easy to gouge things if you're not careful.

Like I said, I don't know what kind of paints you are used to. Wouldn't work with our paints over here.
