hello . i have a ts 55 , domino, routers, sanders etc.
i have a record power dx 4000 extractor that i currently use for the table saw and planer etc with a 4 "  hose, i have an adapter to reduce this down for the hand tools. i dont feel this is good enough for the hand tools especialy the festool ones.
i was wondering which vac would suite me best.i would consider the dust deputy to cut down bag usage. i would like to bring it on site easily and use as big a hose as posible . any opinions on bags, filters etc

I just purchased a Ct22 in April 2010, so I would rather buy the new drill or the rotex 90 sander.

I hustle a 22 everyday to the job.

I will get a 26 to complement it.

I thought about a mini or midi but, I would rather spend a bit more and have the larger capacity and extra accessories.

My shop has a very sophisticated dust collection system, vital for all the large fixed machines.

I also have 2 CT22. I have made an offer on a near new CT22 and have pre-ordered a CT36.  What I find is that with the Festool saws, routers and sanders, adjusting the suction easily is very important.

Festools are designed for high velocity dust extraction which also cools the tool. The 27mm hose is fine for most Festools, except the planers and the Kapex which need the 36mm hose.

The Kapex which is bolted down in the shop has a dust collection shroud behind it which is connected to the main DC system. That Kapex also has a CT22 parked beside it connected with a 36mm hose. That CT22 is the one I currently take with me to sites. When the CT36 arrives probably I will take that to sites.

is the 26 really worth the price difference. i can only really justify the midi or mini but still want the best value. what am i missing out on by no going for the 26, you say addjustable speed and accesories

I have a CT22 and would recommend it over the mini or midi for jobsites and systainer hauling. Looked at both M's and decided they just weren't worth it for real work. As a secondary clean-up vac or if work were more service oriented, I'd say yes.
My dealer has a 26 on display. Definitely an improvement over the 22. Nice features and changes. I'm not the kind of guy who needs the latest thing. Don't know what the price difference is between the 26 and 22, but I'd probably buy the 26. I big consideration is the bag size. Once you look at the new bag design, the 26 seems like a done deal.
Good luck picking.

If you use the Dust Deputy, you can get the model with the box that clips right into the top of the CT26.  They do a great job of preserving bags.
