Which Woodpeckers Tools to start with ??

Just my opinion but I think most of their tools are gimmicky and high priced.
Overpriced? Maybe  Gimmicky?  No way.  Their design team is excellent and when I spend the money on one of their tools, I know I am getting a well-designed and quite functional.  I have a lot of "Red Aluminum in my garage shop and my favorites are the TS-32(T-Square) and the 1281 (square).  I use them a lot.  Can I go to Harbor Freight a by a T-Square or any other measuring tools? Yes  They lack a certain essence the Woodpeckers bring to their tools.  Nothing haphazard about them.  They are accurate and you can take that to the bank

Coming from someone who owns a LOT of Woodpeckers tools, I'd suggest only buying the 2616 square in aluminum. More often than not, you will be using it as a square, not for measurement, so the thicker profile is better. Then get a 12" Starrett combination square and a 4" Starrett double square. Now that Woodpeckers is transitioning more of their OneTime tools to ready stock, you can add them when the need arises rather than when the order window is open.

True, the price is high but their basic tools aren't gimmicky. I own an MFT Square (a past OTT). It was expensive, but not when you realize it is dead-on square. When I do a final square-up on my MFT before doing final cuts for any project, I know the result is a cut which is truly square.

The price is also not high when you consider that the Woodpeckers guarantee is nothing short of amazing. My MFT Square fell onto my concrete workshop floor and, as a result, went out of square. I sent it back to WP and the legs of the square were replaced, making the square a perfect 90 degrees again. No charge even though there was no question that the damage was why fault. That's a great guarantee and, in my opinion, worth every penny I paid.

I love my TS-3 (quite similar to the saddle T-squares). Only wish I had gotten a longer version, too :)

36" center-scale rule with hook stop is incredibly useful.

^I probably use those two the most.

Due to pricing I went with the 641 square to start, and like it a lot. Will probably get the 1281 eventually to complement it. Don't need the SS scribing models because that's covered with my TS-3 and TS-12.

Have been eyeing an edge rule or two.
