Who has put there hands on a CT15?

I've currently got the old midi with the knobs and rotary switches. I saw the new CT15 and wasn't really interested until I saw that you could get a cord wrap and a cart handle for it. Haha. I feel like these are two things really missing from the old midi. It looks like the capacities are the same. So now I'm thinking about switching up.

I would want to get the hose garage to put systainers on, so that's an extra $50. I really wish that they'd put some way of attaching systainers to the top, even if it didn't have the hose garage. I feel like that's the main reason to have the cart handle.

Questions:

The microwave buttons look really cheapy. I really like the positive feel of the rotary switches on the old midi and they fit my sausage fingers well. Opinions on either? Do they feel like they'll last?

How does the weight and size compare? The midi I have is about perfect for me to carry one handed and easy to get up and down stairs.

What's up with the non anti static hose? I've seen it repeated so many times that the Festool vacs needed an AS hose to protect the electronics or something? What happened to that?

Any other opinions or comments about trading one for the other are welcome.

The CT 15 was designed to be a less expensive option so you can't expect it to have all the features of the others like an anti static hose. You seen the price of those? I have the newest version of the CT MIDI with the bluetooth activation. I've only had it for a few months but so far the "micro wave" buttons are working fine. So are the ones one my actual micro wave oven that is over ten years old. I'm sure it will be fine.

I think it would be a great option for use with a Kapex where you don't need the bluetooth just the power cord activation. I'm thinking of getting one for that reason, then I can free up the MIDI for other tools that can benefit from it's BT activation feature.

Don't think this provisions exist, so you might want to re-think this.  A cord wrap/handle is - but that's not SYS connectivity.

Jury is still out.  Membrane buttons are not a robust in general, and this is FT first foray into them. Don't be surprised either way.

They are very close in size, weight, performance and capacity.

Nothing happened.  They don't need AS, it's just a feature.  And just how do you think they get to the 350 price point with performance being the same ?

I suspect you're going to be disappointed with this for jobsite work when compared to your current MIDI.  In order to upgrade, you'd need to look at the new MIDI or CT26.  Those offer bluetooth and the new fabric hose as well as the new stronger hose garage plastic and design.

Most microwaves have capacitive buttons , not membrane ones.  There is a difference.

I guess the membrane buttons might not last that well. Mine is only 6 months old.

But they are used a lot less with the Bluetooth and tool supply actuation. I reckon I only use the actual button about 1 in 20 times the Midi is used.

I just got mine. Suction is excellent. Nice size. Looks total quality. Time will tell how it holds up.....

Pretty sure the hose garage from the new a MIDI/MINI will fit the CT 15. They’re essentially the same vacuum.
