Who is your Go To Guy?

I'm going to start my Festool Addiction with a TS 55, MFT 1080, OF 1400 and I was looking to find a good source.

I'm not a fan of my local NY dealer so I'm looking for a Online Dealer that preferably has no tax and, free shipping on large orders.  You opinions are appreciated.

Hi folks,

if I had the chance to purchase Festool products in the USA I wouldn’t hesitate to buy from Bob Marino. You may wonder why I recommend Bob Marino although I have never bought anything from him.
The reason is fairly simple: Living in Austria, I can’t buy from Bob Marino and probably never will. Nevertheless, I email Bob Marino from time to time when I have questions regarding Festools and he’s kind enough to answer them – although he knows that he won’t get any business from me.

Greetings from Austria,

Christian

Bob Marino.
Extremely customer service oriented.
Absolutely a wonderful experience.

Honestly, if I need something in a hurry I go to Woodcraft.  If I'm not in a hurry, I order from McFeely's or most recently I ordered some abrasives from Bob Marino.  He called me shortly after I placed my order and ended up saving me some money on shipping (and I got the stuff just as fast as if I'd  gone 2-day).  Nice guy -- I recommend him highly.  You can't go wrong with McFeely's, either.  But with Bob, you get that extra "personal" touch.

I don't know where you are located in NY, but Jim @ Warren Cutlery in Rhinebeck, NY stocks the TS55 & OF1400 & most of all Festools. I am not sure about the MFT1080, He is a nice guy and treats me very well.

I have purchased from a local dealer in my area, from Festool-USA and from Bob Marino, in that order.  I now buy from Bob Marino - great service and a really nice guy to work with.  I understand there is no sales tax with Bob, unless you live in New Jersey.  Shipping is free on Festool products over $150.  As mentioned in reply above, Bob is located in Glen ridge, NJ.  My experience is you can get Festool products delivered to your door no matter where you live within a few days.  If you feel compelled to buy in person, then that's another issue.

I have purchased lots of items from McFeely's, but nothing yet in the Festool line.  I would not hesitate to buy from McFeely's, as I have always had good luck with them in the past.

Woodcraft is another story with Festool items, at least in my area.  The local Woodcraft store has a terrible reputation for lack of product knowledge and surly sales people.  Even if it were closer to me, I would only go there in a total pinch.

There is another Festool stocking dealer in my area that I buy materials and other tools from, Woodworkers Source.  I'd buy from them at some future time, if Bob was not available.

I try to split my purchases between Bob Marino and Mcfeelys just to be fair. Bought the Domino and 1400 from Bob and the CT22, rotex 150 and rs400eq from Mcfeelys and the TS55 from woodcraft.

I've placed both my orders for Festool products with Bob Marino... He's saved me money, given me great advice, made the extra effort to help get things to me in time for my projects, and followed up. I am very happy and plan on placing all future orders with him...even though I have local dealer/reps and 2 WoodCraft stores within 30 minutes of me, and I'm on the opposite side of the country... :o (is nice having a Festool warehouse in NV)

Well it looks like I will be sending Bob an e-mail.  Thanks everbody.  I can't wait to get my new toys!

You made the right choice.  Cant get more help, advice or service from anyone else.  I also appreciate the fact the back a few years, before Festool proliferated to the extent it has now, Bob was out there really telling the Festool story, helping build the market for the manufacturer, lending tools to professionals, etc.

I kept reading about him in different publications.  He's done a lot for all of us -- every reason to buy from him, no reason not to.

Gee this Bob Marino must be a brilliant dealer ;D

My fav is Prestige Power Tools, Crn Bath & Barkly st Mordialloc. Steve is a top bloke and WILL give a discount on Festool  ;D

Mr. Marino is my source for Festool fun and frolic...always an enjoyable, but "ching....ching..." moment!

I've not had much luck with Woodcraft.  Both the nearest stores are 45 miles away and they don't stock many consumables (at least they're never in stock when I drive all that way to buy them).  Woodwerks in Columbus, Ohio has a larger selection but shorter hours - hard to make the 1+ hour drive to get over there.  The last flyer I got from them had a store-made MFT that they said was larger than the 1080 table.
As far as mail order, I've had good service with McFeeley's (received order in 2 days) and Bob Marino.
Tom.

Just ordered a TS 55, MFT 1080, OF 1010, and CT MINI from Bob.  Thanks everbody. I'm sure that I will be asking more questions once I get into my new toys.

Well, I started out with Festool before they sold through a middle man; everything was by phone or over the web to a location in California.  Kind of annoyed me when they went with the dealers as I thought perhaps I could have had that discount instead of the middle man.  Anyway, that's their decision.  I have dealt with Force Machinery for some of my Festool stuff, but there's really no reason why one shouldn't just order direct over the web as far as I'm concerned.

I've ordered from both McFeely's and Bob Marino.

Both offer fast service and quick delivery.

Awe, come on,

Anybody who has a life sized tattoo on their back of a Domino...

well, thats dedication. ;D
