Thanks for posting that video. Nothing could be more humbling. I've been struggling to learn how to use a skew. You can buy dozens of different skew configurations--each one says it's the easiest to use. I've known all along that buying more 'gear' isn't going to solve the problem. This video proves it. I sure would like to see him sharpen that skew, though. I bet he doesn't have a Tormek or a diamond stone or a ....

They say this man may have been the very last of his kind to use this traditional device and that was in 1998. We are losing a lot of great information every day.
We are so lucky to have You tube and today's tech to help record this. You tube has some great vids on how to make and use people powered lathes of many types.
Thanks for sharing - this is truly impressive. One of my hobbies is bowl turning. I've learned some patience, but nothing like the patience required to make a product such as this. Plus, I'd probably chop off some fingers using the axe as he does!
