I notice that below his Avatar WOW claims he is the SeniorFestooligan!  [big grin]

On number of posts per day, perhaps.  [tongue]

But on seniority it must be Shane. But if we stick to age it is most likely Tinker?

So who is our most senior Festooligan? I put my bid in at 62 years.  [smile]

Edit. I know Tinker also claims to be our youngest member, but who really is?

If we are going with young at heart and not that stupid calendar I'll throw my name in the hat.  ;D

Just to be clear, I don't claim to be "THE" senior Festooligan. Heck, I don't claim to the "THE" anything!

I decided to claim to be *A* senior Festooligan - though even I have no idea what it means - just because I liked the sound of "Festooligan". It kinda evoked thoughts of being a 'Hooligan' ... which is NOT the worst thing I've ever been accused of.

[wink]

If we're talking about age as a measurement, I will only say that I am no longer 21. I may have to grow older, but I refuse to grow up!!!

[thumbs up]

Seniority?  You can measure that several ways...

If you are talking FOG seniority in terms of time as a member on FOG, that would be Matthew Schenker, who founded FOG before Festool took it over.  Some of the newer members may not realize that FOG started as a discussion on the old Yahoo groups before migrating to this platform.  There were a few of us on that early archaic system that Matthew stewarded.  I remember Frank Pellow kept a database of the tools that everyone owned.  I don't recall that photos were able to be imbedded in posts.  A real pain.

I think that was around 2007 that FOG migrated from Yahoo to this platform and a couple of years later that Festool took it over from Matthew.  And we are fortunate to now have Festool involved, moderating, running sweepstakes, adding new functionality, and allowing us to openly discuss projects, tools, and even faults that we find.

Shane and Seth and Peter have been moderating it since taking over from Matthew.

As to the oldest member in actual life age on FOG - no idea!  But I'm sure it's not Shane!  An interesting stat you can look at in the member profile - total time spent on FOG.  For Shane, that's 214 days, 3 hours and 34 minutes.
In contrast. WOW (Wayne) has only spent 31 days, 9 hours and 6 minutes!  So Shane is about 7 times older than Wow in FOG dog years!  And those aren't Parf dogs, either!

Thank you, Matthew!

I hope all is well... We don't hear from you much?

Just a note on the history. I have been a member since 2007 and been a moderator for about 3 1/2 years. When Festool took over the forum it was Shane, Peter, and Forrest Anderson.

After reading this, I'm not sure if I should congratulate Shane or feel sorry for him?

I turn 21 this year if we're all happy using 27 as our number base [wink] [big grin]

Thanks for clarifying Seth.

At least he's the only who gets paid to be here. Doesn't sound too bad.

For the rest of us, this forum only costs money instead.  [smile]

And that folks make Kev 55 years old in base 10.

My investigation of base 27 discovered it is used within the languages of some tribes in Papua and New Guinea. Interesting what one can learn on or through the FOG.  [smile]

Now on the criteria of age we have Aquila putting his hand up for 66. Any advance on that? I still think Tinker, but he probably won't confirm that?

Age wise I turn 70 in a few months but, I don't think I'm older than some like ccarrolladams based on when he started his cabinet business.
