Why are classes always full

I'm subscribed to be notified when classes become available. When I get the notice I go immediately to the training schedule page and all classes are full! We're talking about a matter of minutes, so what's the point of getting notifications?

The bottom line is that there are only six slots in each class, and interest in taking them is VERY high.  You're not the only one to jump on the announcements, and others just get there first.  Keep trying.  The classes are great.

Make sure to sign up for the waiting list.  Openings come up and are filled in equally short order.  But being on the waiting list gives you a fighting chance.  ;-)

The classes are excellent, and worth it (attended Cabinet Making and Advanced Router courses.  Learned a lot!)

We have hundreds of people on the waiting list for each class, so they fill quickly. Some fill in minutes. I think the ones listed today were all filled in about an hour or so. So, there should have been availability when you got the notification email.

Sorry you didn't get to the site in time. Unfortunately, there's more demand than availability right now.  [sad]

Where / How do we sign up for the waiting list?.

Thx

There's not an official waiting list.

We're now requiring non-refundable payment in advance for classes. So I doubt we'll have cancellations like we did before.

But, if there's an availability that opens, I post about it here on the FOG.

You got to check the site very frequently. Also as soon as the email notification hits your email you have to sign up immediately. They sign up very fast.

There are other alternatives to the classes as well. The demos the regional reps have in the various brick and mortar dealers are pretty good. The ones near me dont draw many if any people, so i go and get a lot of one on one with Alan (the rep).

Once you get to know him he'll come out to your shop and help you learn about the various tools and  techniques.

Plus some of the brick and mortars have employees who are factory trained and can help you. Some of them near me use them in the trade and work at my supplier part time.

Basically there are options.

Look at the bright side.

When you go to the classes you end up spending lots of $$$ on tools.  I spend about 2K after each class.

thx pal. Ill be home in a few weeks again and finally the last time Im leaving and looking fwd to taking some more classes.

Sounds like a golden opportunity for Festool to me. Usual doctrine in business is that when your services are in such high demand, you expand. Ka-ching!

Please explain -- if there are "hundreds" on the waiting list why would you ever need to post an opening on FOG?  Just curious.

Wow, how could a sound international business be missing this basic premise?  [blink]

Maybe its like Seinfeld. You know, when the gang made the pilot of the show about nothing. That fake cast was just too weird. Brian and Steve would be very difficult to duplicate, if not impossible. I say don't mess with a good program.

I think not, it's a brand new technology called the internet and video.  [wink]

Ron, in the past, in the even of a last minute cancellation. That's when it was posted. Most people can't make arrangements to attend a class with less than a week's notice.
