Why are small "drill plunge bases" not a thing?

Got the MilesCraft Drillblock. slipped some accurately sized drill bits  in. Tolerances and fit are good.

Drilled a few test holes and it worked well. No trouble holding it by hand.  Drilled a hole into the corner / edge of a board and that worked well too.

I think they would be useful especially if designed to work with whatever drill you have.
By that I mean designed by the drill manufacturer as an accessory for that drill, or their
line of drills. I think its odd that DeWalt, Milwaukee, RIDGID, Makita, and the read don't
offer at least one. Even Craftsman who usually has this kind of accessory for their tools
has never offered one designed specifically to work with any of their drills AFAIK.

How often would I use one, not sure, might end up using more than I _think_ I need to
if I had one. Right now I don't see myself needing one but I can remember and see many
occasions when I could use one. It would be nice to include in a cordless drill kit.
