Why are some parts of tools not available as replacement parts?

A couple of years ago the bit holder broke in my Festool drill depth stop chuck. At that time, Festool did not sell the bit holder as a replacement part. The only option was to replace the complete chuck. Now the bit holder is available as a replacement.

Now I need a replacement mounting bracket for the angle base for my Carvex. That part is not available. Also not available are the 2 angling foot plates.

If you are not seeing the parts in the electronic catalog (ekat) then I would suggest that you give Festool a call.  They have an expanded version and might be able to help you.  Of course some parts might only be available as an assembly or group, and for accessories it might make sense to stock parts.
