I needed to recess some tab-pulls into the top edge of some drawer fronts this morning. They were 6" wide, so the router was going to need to span that distance. The only thing I have that wide is the edge guide that I made a few weeks ago. It would have worked, but the OF1400 is a bit much for this little job.
In less than 10 minutes the Shaper Trace and Plate made this possible. I did countersink the holes with a hand drill, rather than complicating it.
After the job was done, I spent a few minutes polishing the edges. One of my co-workers asked where I bought it. I told him I didn't, not only did I make it, I did it this morning. The Makita logo was an afterthought that I did after work.
