will the festoon ct 26 Vac’s Bluetooth connect to a makitas Bluetooth

Before I buy the festool ct 26 with Bluetooth, I want to know if the Bluetooth will pair with the makita cordless drop saw or any other of the Bluetooth rang. I really love festool and don’t want to get the cordless makita vacuum.

Doubt it. I don’t think this protocol is standardized.

Maybe via a hack if someone reverse engineers  the protocol.

Ideally FT listens to a S/N, which you could alter in the Makita. But I doubt it.

This is an area where I honestly believe manufacturers should either work together or be forced (by governing bodies like the UK HSE) to work together for the good of everyone.

Hi there, No it’s not compatible, not without as mentioned some sort of hack.
I have a CTM for the workshop and some site work but, also have the Makita AWS (Bluetooth) cordless extractor, to go with my Makita bluetooth plunge saw. For a portable cordless extractor, it really is very good, I have used it with all sorts of tools with surprisingly good results. My only gripe is, I wish it was AC/DC like some other extractors.
Unlike Festool’s bluetooth, being built into batteries, Makita’s version is built into the tool, and apparently in the future, they will offer two versions of each tool, one equipped with bluetooth, and one without.
Festools idea seems much more sensible to me, and I think Makita missed a trick.

If you get a CT, buy the remote, and then using it with any tool is easy.
