My daughter Margaret has an artistic and musical talent (though we don't know where the heck from). A year ago, she made guitar out of candy for her boyfriend Quin. At her high school's art show in June, she presented her various sketches and drawings along with this guitar. At the show, along comes a neighborhood woman who inquires about the guitar. She mentions that she would like to buy it for Carlos Santana, yep, thee guitar legend, as his birthday is coming up. She knows Carlos because her husband is a musician traveling in the same circles. Of course, my daughter was ecstatic. Yet, since that guitar was about a year old, she decided to make a new one, modeling it on one of Santana's own guitars.
New guitar made, presented to the buyer, who shipped this from NJ to his Santana's California home, where this picture was taken. I think he likes it.
Well, it's funny (if that's the correct word) how things can happen, how sometimes random events turn into a perfect storm of sorts.

Beautiful! And sweet story. You never know who is looking...

  Thanks guys.

The initial dealeo was that they would have presented it together when he was playing in NJ. But he was touring Europe last month. If/ when plays in NJ, maybe she will get a chance to meet him in person. Stranger things have happened. [wink]

Way to go, Margaret!!!  Well done!!!  [big grin]  Bob, you have plenty of reason to be very proud.

The upcoming piano project is going to cost A LOT of chocolate [wink] [big grin]

Beautiful art work, great story and it is so awesome that Carlos Santana posed with your daughter's art work and his Grammies !!!!!

Thanks, guys. I guess this is a textbook example of Serendipity. - the occurrence and developments of events in a happy or beneficial way.

Bob. Seems your talent and skills have trickled down to your daughter.  Nice beautiful work

Hey Sal,

Thanks for the kind words, but neither I nor my wife have any musical talent, not with instruments or voice, nor any artistic talent with, paint, pencil or charcoal. Where she got it, I don't know, but I'm glad she does have it.

Great story! Thanks for sharing it, Bob. Very cool to say the least. Very creative idea too!
