Hello All
I just bought a DC UNI FF depth stop chuck to use with my Festool C15 and Ti15 drills.
When mounted on either of these drills the nose piece of the chuck has a noticeable “wobble” ; when the nose piece is removed the same wobble is seen on the bearing.
The wobble does not seem to effect the centricity of the bit itself in the chuck. No other chucks on these drills exhibit similar wobbling so I doubt it’s the drill motor shaft.
I have tried two different DC UNI FF chucks from different places and they both exhibit the exact same wobble.
I doubt it matters much when driving screws, but I think it might cause premature wear of the rubber nose piece.
So my questions are:
Does anybody else see this wobbling on their chucks? Does it matter?
Is it a deliberate purposeful design feature of the chuck? If it is not deliberate is there some persistent manufacturing defect in these chucks that for which there is warranty or recall?
Thanks much
