Wonder what the model number CXS stands for?

Per the Festool video the model number means:

C-series drill, eXtra, Small or CXS

inquiring minds want to know.
 
I think it should be C - X - $.  The dollar sign was mistaken for an "S".

lol, the CXS is actually the first tool that i thought was "cheap" by festool standards.

Do you mean in cheap as in inexpensive in price or cheap as in poor build quality?

cheap price-wise, it's half the price of the next drill in the series.
and if you take away the accessories and systainer  then it doesn't cost much more than a comparable Bosch driver
 
@ timtool,  Compare Mafell to Festool and you'll see that Festool are bargains, also compare EUrope festool vs US festool US are also bargain compare to Europe.
