I don't post here much, but figured I would share one of my current projects.
Section of house we were doing is between original house and existing garage. So framing was not great. We put up standard T&G then installed these solid pine beams. We had to dado beams to cover some of the LVLs and other framing. The upper 8x8 had close to an inch of scribe to make everything work, we took 1-1/4 out of the center of the beams on the ground, then scribed to the ceilings up on the stage. 6x6 covered the exposed LVLs which required a dado of 4" wide and 2-3/4" deep allowing a 1/2" of scribe once in place. We did the routing with an old 1400 which was getting tired by the end. Wish I had a 2200 and I'd buy one in the future to do this again.
We normally install cabinetry and trim so this was a little out of the norm for us. I'll post more pics when complete.
