I just noticed it looks like that boom arm is using the CT as a base.  I dont know how that thing doesnt flip over without some sort of bracing.

I noticed that too, and wondered why he didn't mount the post on the opposite corner. May be he needed to swing the arm to the back side of the CT often?

I like the idea of using a piano hinge for the build.

There might be a substantial amount of weight in the Systainer perched above the vacuum.  That would provide stability.
