Woodpecker 18" Precsion Triangle Campaign...

i emailed them at mailroom@woodpeck.com  last night asking for the 26" square and 18" triangle..  i will also send that same email to the boss man    hopefully this works!!

Well, I joined in the fight to have them re-introduce the triangles and larger framing square.

I find it hard to believe that they sell a lot of the one time tools that they produce.  Honestly, who bought the Fibonacci Gauge?

Or the Pythagoras Gauge?  I would think that the demand for a good square would be higher then that of the gauges.

When I receive a Woodpecker news letter I always open it with hopes of a larger squaring product.  Triangle and or square.

But they keep releasing these little marking and measuring gauges.  [mad]

It would be sad if they didn't listen to some customers that want to give them money.  They already have the programs to run the CNC machines.

I couldn't be that hard to produce them for at lease another one time tool program.

That is very true - how about a special run that's Festool Green plated..?

Someone spiked the Kool-Aid???  [blink] [scared] [big grin]

Woodpecker now likes to use red anodize.  You're on your own if you want green.

Just received a response for the squares.

Michael,
The only ones I have left are the two in my shop. We do plan on making another run for September and will be soliciting for orders in the first week of July. Thanks for taking the time to write.

Subject: 18" Triangle Square

Have been searching very hard for this square and have 20+ other fellow FOG members looking for the same.  Is it possible to bring this tool back?  Do you have any that didn’t sell?

Thanks,

Michael Garrett

I also receive a quick reply from Mr Hummel (below). I had suggested that they consider a special Festool green colored run, well that might not happen but at least they are receptive to another run of these great triangles. I hope that once they do make an announcement we all flood them with orders!

I appreciate you taking the time to write. We have received quite a bit of interest in that tool. Do you know if it’s primarily the 18” that’s needed or also the 12?  I’ll go ahead and get it lined up for an upcoming broadcast. Once you see it come out, please spread the word.

As for green, that probably won’t happen. Hopefully red will be acceptable.

I believe Woodpecker has completely standardized on red for their products and black for the Woodcraft Supply "Pinnacle" brands.
My 18" Woodpecker triangle is gold which was one of the early ones from them.

I also received a return email from Richard.  And a young lady named Sam. Nice guys and gals over at Woodpecker.

I sent an email about the 660mm square.  Received an email from Sam and she told me that she had one

450mm square at the warehouse.  So, I ordered it and since I work about 15 minutes from the warehouse, I just

returned from Woodpeckers with a new 450mm square.  [tongue]

Sorry for rubbing it in guys, I couldn't resist  [big grin].

I guess the triangles can be expected in a few weeks for pre ordering.  So I'm gonna grab a 18" triangle when they

send out the news letter.

Eric

Yeah!  Worked!
"Thanks for asking Derek. Thanks to all the requests weve received for the 18” triangle, we’ll be doing a production run for Sept delivery. The broadcast should go out the first week of July. They’ll be a OneTime Tool.

Thanks for helping the push. I've been on this for a couple of months, as others have been I'm sure. Hopefully they'll have both triangles and squares I larger sizes. We'll soon see. The sqeaky wheel...

I'm so pleased with the 26" and am really glad to get in line for the 18" triangle.  That and a Carvex should hold me until Christmas gets here!  Thanks guys for stirring this up. [big grin]

I wish they would invent a precision square that didn't fall on the floor so often.

thanks for the heads up, i had just checked yesterday and there was nothing!!  go figure

this will be my first woodpeckers purchase, what do most of you do, get the MDF case or no?  this will ride in my trailer

also having a tough time deciding if i should go metric or imperial.. i have been thinking of going metric for cabinet construction but t seems weird to buy tools in metric to me (never having used it)    what do most of you work in or buy your squaring/measuring items like this in?

So  hard to say, as I am beginning to use metric more and more.  I'm going to order both, even though square is square on either one.

I bought their 12" triangle years ago, and got the case. (Also have a 6" and 4", but they don't have flanges.)

I suggest you do the same, especially if you're going to keep it in your trailer.

It cradles the triangle nicely, as it has a cutout for the flange, and a retainer to keep it "locked" into the case.

At least it did then. I see no reason why they'd change it....

Edit to add....Yup. just looked at the pic. Identical design.  Worth the $20.

Oh...and I have the standard graduations.

I almost never use metric measurements. Even put standard measurements on my TS and 1400.

Still use metric with the Domino though, but hardly anything else.

I'm thinking that WP is offering it to expand into other markets.

Probably the same with Incra now offering metric.

Just a thought.
