Hello. Just got the hole boring jig and it seems that the bushings that came with it don’t work with festool adapter that I have. Neither 20mm or 3/4” fit the adapter
I have used this adapter with powertec bushing set without issues
Anyone have this issue?

This is as far as it goes

I have had the same issue with a Whiteside Inlay Bushing that would not fit into the OF1400 bushing adapter. I planned to call Whiteside after the first of the year. My other bushings fit it including some others from Whiteside.

Thank  you. I emailed woodpecker lets see what they say

Ya don't worry, they'll do you right.  [smile]

I had the same issue so I chucked up the Woodpecker adapter in the lathe and removed .003"-.005" from the outside diameter because that was the simplest solution to the problem...obviously easier than sending the item back to Woodpeckers.

Easy if you have a lathe (and know how to use it )  Friend of mine is going to mill your adapter for me.

I would be willing to do that for you, (lathe) but it's probably cost prohibitive to ship it twice.
I've never had that problem, but it would be an easy fix.

I emailed woodpecker.  Lets see if they will swap it (bought it used) if not, I might take you up on your offer.  Shipping it should be fairly cheap.  2 tiny bushings

I certainly won't argue that with you.  [smile]

However, even on a wood lathe this would work...you just can't remove exact amounts of material from the bushing, it's catch-as-catch-can.

This could also be done on a drill press given infinite amounts of time and infinite amounts of emery cloth and a very patient operator...it's only brass.

How do you keep the thread pitch and not deform it during milling?

Well, on a lathe you're only taking a couple of thousandths cut and actually you want to take the smallest amount off that's needed to fit the bushing into the Festool template guide. If your friend has access to a milling machine, then he also probably has access to a metal lathe which would be the easiest solution.

Ah that makes sense. My friend only has the mill. It’s a tormach 440. No room for lathe

No problem. I have a metal lathe right here at home, plus I already have the same Festool adapter to test fit it.

Update - emailed woodpeckers and new bushings are enroute.  They did say that there was a batch of these early on with fitment issues and its been fixed with later units

Good to hear that they took care of you.  [smile]

Also, good to know they're aware of the problem because mine was definitely from the first batch.

Now the fun begins... [wink]

Yep.  My friend also shipped the adapter to me, should be arriving soon

Got the replacement bushings from woodpeckers. Perfect fit. Customer service is on point.
