When i was in construction biz, i used my Swansons for laying out simple rafter cuts as well as for square cuts.
The 18" and 12" carpenters triangle squares can be used the same way for cuts other than 90º and 45º.
working in my shop, i so far have used my Swanson squares only for setting up 90º and 45º cuts.
I would probably use the Woodpecker squares only for 90º and 45º in my shop as well.
