Thanks guys for speaking up. At least we can see how many members here would like to own it. I'm sure this is just a small part of larger group of Woodpeckers clients. Personally I like to keep square without bevel but i like idea of mm and inch on one square. One thing I would like to see is a large hole in it that would hung it plumb on a dowel or domino for easy storage. I am down for 26'' or larger, 18'' and triangle. One more idea would be to add a magnets to its base like you can find on some Stabila levels. Please go to their web and request it if you haven't yet. Cheers.

I like this idea, perhaps, metric on one side and imperial on the other, IDK just a thought

I may be dumb, but this doesn't seem like a good idea?

I will often flip my square over to measure a short distance (like 1/2") from - say - the left edge of a piece. I need to flip the square over so I can have it rest along the main body of the piece when move from the top to the bottom, so this absolutely wouldn't work for me. Maybe I'm the only one who uses a square that way though?

For that kind of money, I would like to read some more ways a 26" square could be used.  What can it do that my 18" triangle and 1281 square cannot?

What makes these squares more desirable than others?
Scott, I do own few tools from woodpeckers/ incra already, like any good tool you can tell when it's well build, precise, practical and will last. I like how with woodpeckers square you can clearly see the scale, stand it next to work piece and but it against material to make layout an easy task. It just takes my guess work out, so I can work more efficient. Make a trip to any good local woodworking store and check it out. They are not cheap but we all have some cheap tools that well, while they do the job they suck. I'm not saying that other brands are bad but since I have a choice might buy it once and enjoy it.

U still could use it same way as long as only outside (longer)  arm would be in lets say inch and inside of that arm would be in mm or vice versa. Guys at woodpeckers spend lots of time designing it so I'm sure they could come up with cool ideas. Another one is to make a bevel slot with scale but that could not start with 0.

I thought I would get a rise out of someone with that comment and look who would be first to chime in on that [poke]

For myself I wouldn't be using this squares for regular layout, I would mainly use for squaring MFT and checking square on large cabinets and frame. For the price of a woodpecker square they should have both imperial and metric, but whatever  [2cents]

I was at the woodworking show yesterday and asked them what tools are coming out soon and the man looked up on some paper he had and said the large square would be available next week. Idk if that is the same square that is being discussed

Thanks for the info, tk

Great news thanks for the info.

I have the large metric square and in my experience the scales are a distraction from the squares intended use. Of the four scales on my square only one begins precisely at the origin. Even if they all did the absence of a bevel on the blade makes placing the marks accurately very dificult. I don't know if the inaccuracy on mine is an aberration but I have come to accept that if you want to measure something use a ruler, and if you want to check for square use a square. But don't expect one thing to do both well.

SO maybe they should offer a 'naked' square? Similar to an engineer's square with high precision but no markings? I'm not sure how much money they would save by not marking them, but you'd think it would be a meaningful number?

I like it!

Well it looks like woodpecker finally listened.  Just got the email this morning for their newest one time tool. [emoji41]

I think it has more to do with timing since making these last available and the number of requests for another run of, in this case, the precision framing square, and less to do with "finally listening"......

About the only thing I'd change is adding a routed out hand hold to the top of the case, the t piece unit is pretty heavy.

The good news is that you can rout your own with your OF 1400 and the MFS...

I wouldn't be carrying them around in the case anyway, they are meant to be hung on a wall, etc....me being shop based only....
